1st maintenance

Thank you for your suggestions!

Not to be redundant but my tractor came with thermo gauge as well as a thermocouple that is mounted to the radiator on one side and what seems to be a veristor/pot on the dash side. Could someone please think through this with me in that what's the need for the pot in series to the LED? Two options, 1) increase/decrease LED intensity, or 2) set thermocouple to activate LED at a set/known overheat temperature. I guess I could let the tractor overheat and discover what that temp should be

Yanmars don't come with any of that stuff. Some electronic hack has added it for who knows what reason.

Norm, I'm not here to argue the merit of innovation! But as I see it, while he's a hack to you, to me he's a thinking person who at least dared to step outside the box to achieve his purpose. BTW, my post had to do with attempting to understand what and how the previous owner(s) was trying to achieve rather than get into banter.

Forumites, sorry for the double post, don't know why the system burped but brass please feel free to remove one.
