First Post, New to the forum. I bought the 1250 last fall with only 250hrs on it from a private individual. It's condition went along with the hours, excellent mechanical shape and clean. Only one problem. When I use my MF1700 finish mower the tractor overheat pretty quickly. I have done all the standard overheat maintenance to no avail, even run without both side cowlings. Question for the experts. Is the mower to much for this tractor? One engineering problem, I think, is that the muffler sits right on top of the motor. If you leave the cowlings on there is no where for the heat to go. Anyone run across a similar problem or a fix?

The radiator fins are clogged where you can't see the clog. Mine did the same thing. Get a can of oven cleaner and spray the fins down, then wait about 10 minutes. Hose it down with the garden hose. You will be surprised at how much crud will come out.
