I am trying to find out the value of my 1987 John Deere 318 so that I may sell it. It has 205 original hours. Was just started this week with no issues at all. Has always been garaged kept. It is in beautiful shape, very clean. It comes with a 40-45 bushel bagger that tilts to dump, front weights, PTO with a rear tiller. I was told by the John Deere place that it is a collectors piece. I have been to many websites trying to find a fair price, but none I have found are in the wonderful shape that mine is in. I would greatly appreciate any help in this matter. If you need any further information to help price it please let me know and I will do my best to reply. Thanks :)

Have you tried asking over at weekend freedom machines? Pictures are always going to help as well.

Weekend Freedom Machines

There are quite a few 318 enthusiasts over there. I would agree that is a collectors piece. They are highly popular machines and finding one in as great shape as you claim is getting harder and harder. Wish I could help you more on the price, but I'm not up to date on their current values.

Good luck.

Since you mention it has the MCS, it must also have a mowing deck. With that, I'd guess around $4500+ unless it can somehow attract the attention of someone who wants it just as a collectors item, whereupon I'd have no idea.

I would think to be a collectors item, it would have to have nearly zero hours but I don't know jack sheit about such matters.

The JD 318 was a classic, mainly because they held up so well.
Its value will only be what someone will pay you for it. Someone with a worn-out 318 with a lot of attachments and who knows how well they hold up, might pay good money. But likely it would be a collector that would pay the most.

Put it on eBay or on Craigslist if you want to sell it. Or at a Deere dealer on consignment.

I'd estimate one in such good shape would be worth about $3000, relative to what else is available used in later models.
