1985 Ym336d spindle problem

Ym336d spindle broke. Ordered new one from Hoye's who confirmed is correct part but spindle is too big to fit in bearing. It's Sunday so can't call them to work out issue. Anybody have experience with this and can offer advice? Here is picture of broken spindle.

How much too big? You have to drive the inner race(of the end bearing) on with a brass drift and hammer,and it's a tight fit.

It's about 1/8" bigger so no forcing it unfortunately. Here is a pic of the old one on top of the new one.

don't know this for sure, but is it possible to just get a bearing from Hoye to fit the new spindle ,and everything else will bolt up. Looks like you have the new part installed except for bearing

Looking at hoye's part pages you will note the old and new styles. one requires that bearing to be an NJ306E bearing. (72mm x 30mm x 19mm). The other style calls for an NJ207 bearing (72mm x 35m x 17mm) May be what you have. I suspect you will find your old shaft to be about 1.181" and the new shaft to be about 1.378".

Yes, you have the new style but you ordered the old style part number. Just give us a call and we can get the correct parts out for you.
