It's actually kind of neat. :confused2: The 360 ability looks like it would have been handy when maneuvering the trailer.

Having owned a VW bug in the past, I'd say they have exceeded the safe towing weight by 10x. Clever though.

This was posted awhile back on iboats forum. The consensus there was: one wreck or even a panic stop, and that thing would come lose off the rain gutter and that camper would climb up the back of the v-dub. I agree it is kind of cool, in a weird way, but there is no way I would tow it.
