I had a toy Matchbox Deora car when I was a kid. That is as close to one as I ever got. The grandkids had all the old hotwheel cars out of the closet today, I saw that car and it brought back memories. Now I am reading your thread of the same car. Stock photo.

Just like the old VW bus, your the second one at the scene of the accident, the bugs on the the windshield are first. It is kinda cool looking.

Not sure "innovation" is the word I'd use to describe this pseudo-truck. Space-age futuristic to be sure, but not really very practical. The whole truck-as-lifestyle-vehicle was still a few decades away.
