I had a toy Matchbox Deora car when I was a kid. That is as close to one as I ever got. The grandkids had all the old hotwheel cars out of the closet today, I saw that car and it brought back memories. Now I am reading your thread of the same car. Stock photo.

Not sure "innovation" is the word I'd use to describe this pseudo-truck. Space-age futuristic to be sure, but not really very practical. The whole truck-as-lifestyle-vehicle was still a few decades away.

265 industrial slant six, sodium cooled valves, 5.88 axles with trac-tra enclosed joint front. No universal joints, no binding in 4x4. Not the fastest but nearly unstoppable.
