Not sure "innovation" is the word I'd use to describe this pseudo-truck. Space-age futuristic to be sure, but not really very practical. The whole truck-as-lifestyle-vehicle was still a few decades away.That’s back when the USA was the world leader in innovation, designs, engineering and manufacturing.

265 industrial slant six, sodium cooled valves, 5.88 axles with trac-tra enclosed joint front. No universal joints, no binding in 4x4. Not the fastest but nearly unstoppable.Drop a 5.9L Cummins in that truck!!!
