Where do I find a rebuild kit for a 1963 John Deere 4010 Syncro-range shifter? Or do I need to order each part by itself?

Where do I find a good schematic with part numbers?

Are there any good tutorials for tearing into one of these?

I have a couple of gears that do not seem to play nice. I think the reverse below 5th gear and one other.

I backed up in the reverse below 3rd gear.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I went to the link below, but it was so hard to see, that I wasn't sure I was looking at the correct picture

Are your shifting linkages showing lots of slop? Ken Sweet

Try this jdparts link.
John Deere - Parts Catalog

Enter your model no. and go to the different listings.. expect better quality than what you linked to in your post.
Give it a shot.
Also, can visit your Deere dealer for the same help.

I haven't really looked at it yet.

If the shifter linkages show slop, is it OK to drill them out to the next size bigger pin or can that present a different issue?

I had success with doing that. Tks, Ken

There is no "kit" that I am aware of. Here is a diagram of the parts. Usually, replacing bushings #10, pivot #15, latch #6 and any other obviously worn parts makes a world of difference in shifting

My Parts book - Has the similar picture, but Different item numbers for the same parts

I am on page 35-7 of Parts Catalog No. PC-691

I have the Peaceful Creek LLC parts manual. Is it possible they used different numbers to avoid copyright infringement?

The part numbers are also different.

From the link above I have part number #6 Latch - pt# R52882 #10 Bushing - 2 Ea. pt# R26182 #14 1/4"x 1 1/4" roll pins 2 ea. Pt# 34H314 #15 Pivot R53247
