multiple problems. purchased a 1734E new. at the time of purchase had them install a new remote. Tractor came with a remote hydraulic filter. They deleted the filter with the remote install. When i noticed it they said that was correct, it only now has the in trans screen. not happy with this you would think it would need a filter more with having a rear remote. second issue. tractor would not start. has 250 hours on it. tractor comes with a sticker on the side of the hood saying " 5 year powertrain train warranty" so i took it to dealer. they said it needed a new alternator and battery for about 1500 dollars, warranty does not cover that, only basically internal parts. did not have them fix. Only needed a battery for 180 dollars, they charged me 256 dollars for a bad diagnostic. so all in all not to impressed with Massey.

Does not sound like a Massey failure but definitely a dealer failure.

I would like more information on this hydraulic filter delete.? I am not aware of a remote only filter, Are you saying they deleted the main hydraulic filter?

Dealer reeks. Appeal the entire situation to the Regional Service Rep. Get him to pass judgement. Do not pay anything until you get his verdict. The dealer SHOULD assist in making direct contact between you and the service Rep. If they don't, report that to the Rep too...

I do not understand why they would have to delete the filter. Can you post a picture of where the filter was?

I agree with K5 that removing the filter does not make sense.

Any other Massey dealers in your area that you can talk to?

i attached a picture earlier. there are other Massey dealers around but all owned by same company, Ohio Ag Eqipment. I just don't think they wanted to take the time to re plumb. other option is its now high pressure on all the lines?

Not all the lines are high pressure but would not know which is which without seeing how things are plumbed. My guess is they removed the filter for room to put the remote valve although the filter housing is not built into the transmission and could be located anywhere.

Did they give you the housing and filter back? If not, I would definitely ask for it. You paid for it when you bought the tractor and I doubt they gave you credit for it when they added the remotes.

Getting advice from another dealer is a good idea that oldnslo suggested.
