I am about to get a 155d and can't find info on 3pt capacity. Looking at getting a tiller and brush cutter and possibly a wood chipper.

To the forum. Do you know the Braden's (sic) that lived north of town? My father took us there to meet them many years ago. He had served with the elder one in WWII. If I remember correctly, he was a logger and raised mink.

1210 lbs sounds a little optimistic. My YM186D, slightly larger, needed 250 lbs nose ballast (photo) before it could lift a 650 lb disc without raising the nose instead.

I think a 48" rotary mower and tiller might be the limit of what that 155D can lift and operate. As for a wood chipper, is there one out there in the 500 lb category?

Welcome to the forum. :welcome: Even though the book gives 1210 lbs that is right at the pins and if you had any kind of an implement weighing that much you would be in trouble. I agree with California's assessment.

Thanks for the info. It has a loader for front ballast so that should help. Looking at King Kutter XB tiller and mower both in the 550lb range. For chippers the Wood Maxx is around 950lb and the Dr Power is around 300lb. Any suggestions on web links to get a copy of "the book"?

I think a trailer-mount chipper with its own engine will be far more productive than a pto powered one. You can put brush forks on your loader and drive the material to the chipper from a wide area. Then load the chipper at waist level, instead of hand-carrying your material to the chipper.

I bought a HF 6.5 hp shredder. Maximum size it will shred is anything you could cut with hand loppers, about 1 inch green wood or less if dry. There's a lot of hand labor feeding the thing. (photo) This thing is not designed for user ergonomics. I wish I had thought of that before I bought it.

Good point. I have a 6.5 chipper also and yes the labor is greater. I like the brush fork options. Any suggestions on a brand?

I've only seen user-built brush forks, but they must be out there.

I have two pairs of loader clamp-on pallet forks that I use for this. This isn't ideal (too short) but they are far better than nothing. I made this first set from scrap materials I already had. The second set are longer, standard clamp-on forks, that came with another tractor I bought. Note if you try this you need a plywood panel vertical in front of the bucket to keep brush from getting snarled up in the fork attachment gear.
