Hello all, it's been awhile since I posted anything here. I've been pretty tied up for quite awhile. Seems like when problems come they don't like coming alone!
Anyway, I have two questions about repairs to the 1510D. It's got 208 hours on it and has not given me any problems other than I'm going to need to replace the seals on the front drive knuckles. I got the owners manual for the 186D, which is supposed to be the spitting image, but the knuckles shown in the manual look to be a different design externally than whats on my tractor. Has anyone replaced the seals on the knuckles?
2nd problem not addressed in the manual is the shifter to engage the 4wd. I was out moving the driveway gravel from point A to point B, and just generally making a mess of it today and had the 4wd engaged. It engaged fine with no excessive pressure. When I went to take it out of 4wd at the end of play time the shift lever just flopped back and forth.
I didn't get a chance to look at it closely before it got dark but I suspect it may be a shear pin. However if that isn't the problem and I need to check the shift fork will I have to split the tractor?
