1500d starter

I need a new starter! I think I have read somewere on here there is a Mitshubisi or other brand that I can use, rather than the $400 one....
Am I worng?

Unless the starter is burnt or broken they can be cleaned and rebuilt easily, I have had many apart for cleaning and most times that is all that is needed.

I was thinking of buying new brushes and opening the thing up. I've done car and motorcycles, so......

I had a starter go bad on my YM2620D. I found a small, excellent shop that was able to clean and rebuild it for under $100. The men suggested that a new solinod be put on. They had seen many starters in the past that were fuel soked and well worn. The rebuilt unit has worked great. Give your local guys a shot at it. They need the work. Dick

You may find local shop better deal..replace,clean seal almost good as new.
