1240 water pump

I have a MF 1240 in need of a water pump. Just wondering if anyone has a part # or a website to purchase. Dealer is asking about 300.00 might be the way to go but just wondering if anyone had any suggestion.

You can get the parts to rebuild it from the dealer. I needed the shaft with the bearings, the seal, the gasket & the impeller. I spent about $100 to rebuild mine (1250 same pump) about 2 weeks ago.

No, but it is a tight fit. Get Yourself a piece of cardboard to protect the radiator fins & Your hands. You can remove the Radiator mounting bolts and move it forward slightly while leaving the hoses attached. You can get a general idea of what You need to do by watching this video :

Yeah, rebuilding would be the best option as far as cost is concerned or trying to find one that will cross from another generick mfg. Here's the agco site where you can order just about anything new you might need for your tractor or for that matter any MF, but agco thinks quite a bit of there parts. You'll find out when you get a price quote from a dealer.

Thanks for all the help. I got the water pump in yesterday put it in today. Came out easier than in. I did have to take off the radiator but all is secure. My question is how much tension to put on the belt.
