1026R 2012 4 wheel drive problem

Doing snow today I notice my 4 wheel drive hard to put in and get out. I also notice when in 4 wheel going straight it worked fine. But as I turned the more I turn the more it seem to drag. But when I turn straight going forward or backward no problem. Last time I used it 4 days ago it worked fine. Any ideals?

I own a 2025r and on mine, be it 4 wheel drive or shifting from high to low or neutral, it will seem to bind. Sometimes if the tractor is just barely moving the shift is much easier. On mine sometimes it binds, sometimes it doesn’t.

On tractors there is no center differential. The front and rear are locked together. On dry pavement when in four wheel drive and turning sharp, it will feel like wheels are dragging or skipping.

It is also known for the differential lock to hang up.

You hit the nail right on the head. That is the same thing I was feeling today. It just seem worse today. Anyway to make it smoother?

If you don’t need it leave it in 2 wheel drive. If you have a load in the bucket, don’t forget to shift back to 4 wheel drive. With mine if it won’t shift I just bump the forward and reverse a hair and that usually lets me shift.
