John Deere 2320
My 2007 yr John Deere 2320 (750 hrs) started a weird steering issue last year that I just got around to researching. The steering is slow to respond In 2021 the steering cylinder was rebuilt locally after it started pumping out fluid w every turn

Now, if I turn the wheel all the way left/right, it takes about 3 or 4 full turns of the steering wheel before the cylinder starts to retract/extend. There is a little wetness showing up at the cylinder, but nothing spurting out like before. FEL and transmission work normally. Although I noticed a screeching sound if you curl the bucket and hold it there that I don’t remember before

Fluid level is good

Issue??

1) steering cylinder needs to be rebuilt?
2) steering box / hydraulic splitter going out
3) ??

"Rebuilt" steering cylinder or not, it still sounds like a piston seal issue. People often tend to blame or suspect steering valve problems, but in fact the orbitrol style valves rarely give problems (other than oil leaks) until someone "works" on them.
