1000 Series 2008 or 2009?

My local dealer as a few 2008 models left over. Does anyone know what kind of improvements or "un-improvements" Cub has made with these mowers? I'm looking at buying a 50" mower and want to choose the better of the two year models. Yea, the hood looks better on the 2009, but I could care less about the looks....I'm more concerned about mechanical issues.

Changes: The new LTX1050 has a much thicker frame, and can be had with a B&S or Kohler engine. No fuel pump. Aluminum spindles. Bearings in the deck, but I believe bushings elsewhere on the tractor.

The SLTX1050 has similar changes over last years SLT1550.
