The motor in my Ford 660 spun a bearing and I found a Ford 800 with a good motor in it . I'm wondering if the 800 motor will bolt in I know they are not the same C.I. but is the rest of the motor the same? Bell housing bolt pattern and whatnot.
I purchased this old 850 a couple years ago, and for the most part, its a good tractor.... but someone has done a very shoddy job of installing a jackson power steering kit on it, and the wheels are out of time with the steering box, and out of time with each other.... by that i mean the front...
I've owned my Ford 850 for over 40 years and it was last overhauled in 1970. It ended up getting submerged in a major flood and I plan to remove block, crank, and overhaul everything.
I'm looking at the sleeve/piston kits and see that there is the standard 3.90" bore kit and a 4.0" overbore...
I am looking for parts or an entire pump for my Ford 800. It is a Thompson Products Inc. pump model P-1072. Any help on parts or resources would be greatly appreciated.
Decided to tear down the 1958 Ford 800 to try and figure out my oil pressure issue, and I am scratching my head. She had 60 PSI of oil pressure when a quart overfull, but when at the full line it only had oil pressure going up hill. It literally lost all oil pressure when going downhill at full...
I have one wire from the push button starter switch to a single post starter solenoid ( solenoid also has the large cables from battery and to starter motor). Is the push button connecting the solenoid coil to ground when pushed? I don't see any way it could be supplying positive 12v.
i have a 1956 ford 800 with a 5speed transmission I have been told they make a roto gear that you can install to lower the gear ratio can any one verify this?
What is this lever for? When I push up or down on it I can hear the oil pump go to work and my three point won't work for a minute until is "seems" like it builds up pressure again. Just haven't figured out this lever.
Thanks for your help.
I just inherited a very nice '58 Ford 800 with the five speed and live PTO option. The tractor has a loader on it that works fine and everything seems to work well except the 3 point hitch. In close inspection of this tractor it appears there are three big plugs on top of the transmission...
I'm looking for this carburetor for my Father-in-law's old broken tractor. I need it with throttle and choke on the right hand side of the mounted carb (right side of carb as viewed from the driver's seat) for what we think is a 1940's era, Ford 800, 4 cylinder gas engine.
We did eBay a carb...
Directional control valve not working correctly. I can only get pressure in one line. And if I use that line to lift a load via a single acting cylinder, the load drops down pretty quickly when the valve centers. I checked the cylinder by using another tractor and the cylinder is not leaking...
A friend bought a Ford 800 series. Is there an easy way to tell if it's an 850 (transmission PTO) or 860 (live PTO)? Such as PTO shaft will turn when in neutral (by hand) on 850, but not 860???? (I have not tried this, just asking for an easy way to tell) Front emblem say Ford 800. Thanks!
Have a Forf 800. Never have used the aux hydraulics, ie, the couplers. Hooked up a single acting cylinder, one line, and i cant get it to move. I should be able to use a single acting cylinder, shouldn't I? How can I check this out?
Hello, we are trying to sell my grandpas tractor. He passed away we know it's a ford 800 but don't know how to find out what year. Would someone be able to help me and for a price I know he was gonna sell before and wanted 5k. Is there a place to post a picture on here
I have a Ford 800 that has had an engine rebuild and only has about 600 hrs on it. I was thinking of getting a Frontier 7' finish mower or an equivalent brand. Will my tractor run a 7 foot finish mower ? Thanks Ed
I found the Ford 600/800 operators manual online, but was wondering if the I&T or Ford service and parts manuals could be located in digital format. I want the hard copies, but also want the ability to print out only the pages I may need for any given project.
Any recommended sites from anyone?
I picked her up from a Craigslist posting. Advertising as a 841, but even with my basic knowledge, new this was not correct. She has Five speed and live PTO, powered by EAF 6015J, which leads me to believe it would be an 860. OR I could have landed on a Frankenstein model with a bunch of mixed...
Does anyone have an 800 or 801 series that they would be will to measure the width and length of the center hood panel?I'm still unsure of exact model of my Ford, the serial number can not be read. Next step will be to media blast the area behind starter to see if it can be read.
Hello folks,
I have been working on getting my 55' Ford 800 flushed out and back into tip top shape before winter.
Still having some overheating going on and wanting to see if anyone knows how the circuit flows through the block?
Especially at the drain petcock on the starter side of the...
My 12 volt Ford 800 was going along just fine, when it suddenly died. Thought I was out of gas. Nope. Hit the starter after filling it up, it cranks but nothing happens. Thus far I have:
1. Checked the ballast resistor. OK
2. It wasn't too long ago that I replaced wires, cap, rotor, points...
Just recently acquired a Ford 800 and in the process of making it perfect-o...or so to say :dance1:
Been having issues with a lean miss at off idle-to high idle, and just a general loss of power after it warms up. I have two carbs here that I have tried out and neither one seems any better than...

Anybody ever heard of a Ford 800 tractor boiling gas in the tank? The tractor starts to surge under a bush hog load and worse when hot. If it is not dropped back to idle it dies. You can see and hear gas boiling in the tank.
I've got a Ford 800 with power steering and the oil canister on top. Opened it up and it has a filter inside. Problem is, the filter is just laying in there. No bracket or retainer. There's a place for it to lay at an angle over the supply and return oil lines but what is supposed to hold it in...
Have an 800 series tractor replaced shut off valve and fuel line. Tractor ran fine but valve was leaking, now won't start and fuel is leaking out intake of carb... Not sure if it's flooded. Plenty of compression and fire. Any ideas??
I met a man who had a ford 800 however it broke down on his farm and had been setting a few years. I asked him if he would sell it but I really couldn't quote him a price except as scrap. What would be a reasonable price?
Hi,
I'm new here. My Ford 800 recently started to buck and stall going up hill. He only way to keep it running is in 1st gear at low rpms. I drained the gas and replace plugs. Distributor cap is fine. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks, Dan
Hi all. I found an 800 series but I can't nail down exactly what 800 model and year it is.
It has a 5 speed with live hydraulics. It does not currently have the cage looking grill guard.
The VIN is S60 or maybe 560 and below 141719
TractorData is ambiguous on the serial. The only 5 speed live...

i am converting it over to 12 volts and i am trying to find a wiring diagram that show where the s and i wires go off from the solenoid. its a one wire alternator kit.
I have had this Ford 800 many years. Last year the gas started leaking at the shutoff under tank. Bought new shutoff, put it on and it held "for a minute". Now, it's leaking worse. I have now read and found that many owners have had this problem. I have no clue how to rebuild. I'm barely...

When plowing and disking my 800 Ford is very light in the front end.Has anybody built anything to add a couple hundred pounds to the front end of these tractors to keep them on the ground when turning ?
I have a Ford 800, and there is hydraulic oil coming from the streering box around the right side or front side where the lines screw in. Where could it be coming form any ideas?
The front end on my Ford 800 is too light.I need some type of weight up front so when plowing or disking the front end is not always in the air when turning.Thought about bolting 50 lbs or so to each axle side where the line of holes are.Any other thoughts ? Thanks
Can anyone tell me anything about this tractor. It is an 800 but almost 8 feet wide. I have been working on a trade through email and would like to know more about it. Thanks
Have a Ford 800 with power steering. The filler plug-breather plug on the steering gear-control valve leaks oil. Anybody help on this, could it be a bad seal. I got a manual coming but it may take a few weeks to get. Thanks
Turns over good, cleaned plugs, replaced wires, new cap, rotor, and condenser, new coil. rebuilt carburetor when I got it. quit running 5 days ago. sprayed WD 40 into wireing and cap, cleaned out good. and it started and run all day. Restarted just fine in between breaks. next day it won't hit a...
Working on a Ford 800, The tractor would not rev up when the lever was pulled back to full throttle, if the lever was worked real slow could get the tractor to rev up some, found that the gas line at the tank was like bubble gum and only had a trickle of fuel, replaced the line from the tank to...
All things considered equal, which would be a better purchase to shred 5 acres, pull a grader, and maybe a single row plow for gardening? There are several 8Ns around the San Antonio area and a couple of 800s to look at. Better options for reliability, usability and price/availability of parts??
Hello to all... I'm looking at a ford 1957 800 series with loader and backhoe. It jumps out of third gear and the motor was last rebuilt in 1997. Transmission was changed our 2 years ago with new clutch.. what should I consider when looking at this model and what should I pay on the high and...
I have a ford 800 with a front-end loader with no power steering. As would be expected steering becomes more difficult when moving a full bucket of material w/o powersteering. However steering to the right is manageable but is a major challenge when turning to the left. So much that fatigue...
I have a Ford 850 that Ive owned and used for 30 years and it has been a great workhorse for me.

We have an 800 that had a bad bearing in the bottom of the steering shaft. After replacing it and putting oil in it, the oil leaches out of the steering gear shafts. ( the shaft that the pitman arm attaches to) What seals the shaft to keep oil from coming out or am I putting to much oil in it...
I have a fifty year old Ford 800 series tractor that I have had for 35 years. It is about time to buy something new. I want to know what tractor in todays market will do the same work. I use it for dragging fallen trees, grading my driveway with a box blade, brush hogging, etc. This tractor...
My 1956 Ford 850 has factory power steering. The cylinders are in good shape and my dealer rebuilt the steering box. The original steering pump was gone long before I bought it. I think the pump on it is from a Ford Escort, but not sure.--see attached pics. Label on back of pump is HBC DL...
Last year we purchased a Ford 800 series tractor. When we´ve tried to use the tractor this year we found it wouldn't keep going. We drained all the fuel and replaced it. After starting it, it seemed to run about 30 minutes just fine. We put our brush hog on and it ran for a few minutes but then...

My '57 Ford 800 runs for a few seconds and then dies. I assumed it was a fuel problem so I rebuilt the carb using the rebuild kit. Replaced hose that runs from tank to carb. Took off elbow at bottom of tank and cleaned out. Drained old fuel and put new fuel in. Put all back together.
Moment of...
