    Repairing brakes on Massey 1010

Greetings all from middle GA. I am working on a Massey Ferguson 1010 compact 16HP machine. Doing a light overhaul of entire machine, and I am currently on the brakes. When opening up the covers, one side was full of nasty hydraulic fluid, and the other side full of sludgy rust. I assumed the...

BX 25 Doesn't stop well when cold/First use? Brakes and hydro.

I notice that my BX 25 doesn't stop well when it is cold, Braking seems better once the tractor warms up. This goes for the foot brake which feels like it has pressure but I can push it as hard as it'll go and the tractor will keep moving, Also when letting off the forward pedal the tractor...

    YM2500 Brake Shoe Replacement

My YM2500 has no brakes at all for the left wheel. The right side works ok, but I can press the left brake pedal with my foot as far as I want and I have no brakes. From looking at the parts breakdown, I’m pretty sure I can do this myself if I take my time. Hopefully, Fredricks will send me the...

My question is. - If I'm going down a step hill carrying a load in my front loader bucket. ' If my back tires come off of the ground, will I still have brakes on the front wheels? I have some fire wood at the bottom of a steep hill I'd like to get. Thanks This is the Massey Ferguson 1739E...

I've a Kubota B7800 and never owned or operated any other tractor. In maneuvering the tractor recently to disassemble and (later) reassemble my Dirty Hands Brand Log Splitter (lifting of the heavy cylinder (w/o detaching the hydraulic hoses), then lifting off the I-Beam Splitter Post(?) and...

    No brakes

I'm fairly new to the tractor repair side of things but I need some input. I have a 2017 JD 5045 2wd, recently the brakes started going to the floor after about two hours of use, the steering got choppy while bush hogging. I changed the hydraulic fluid as well as the hydraulic screen (which was...

Add brakes and suspension to small dump trailer?

I have an old CAM Woodsman dump trailer that is 4'x8'. I got it mainly for us behind my tractor in the woods. It's great for that: since the wheels are tucked in under the sides the narrow profile makes it easy to maneuver down the trails in my woods. It's got a 3500# axle, but no brakes and no...

    YM1500 Brakes & Seals

I have a YM1500 that lost the left brakes. Upon opening the brake hub I found it was full of oil... serial number is YM1500-2022 with less than 300 original hours and is in mint condition. It has green paint under the black so I'm guessing it is originally a green model... I'm doing my best...

    Brakes binding on MF 35

Hi, I have an issue with the brakes on my 1965 Massey Ferguson 35. The brakes work very well and are able to lock the wheels with medium pedal pressure, but after releasing them, they often continue to drag moderately. A short run in reverse releases them. Bouncing my foot on the pedals...

I have a Montana 555dtc with a leaking rear brake boot. When the tractor is running it sprays hydraulic fluid out under pressure. My question is should the rear axle have pressure? If not is there a vent that might be clogged or should I be looking for something else? While I have experience...

Parking Brake Retrofit? 1962 Case 430 (and I remembered pix BEFORE making the post this time!)

The parking brake on my tractor is pretty much useless. It is a coarse-stepped metal tab on the starboard-side pedal that engages with the footboard (you can see the wear in the photos) and the steps are so far apart for the ratcheting action to provide sufficient pressure to keep the tractor...

I have a nice solid tandem trailer, but they built it using axles without flanges. I am handy with welder, wondering if I could weld on a set of flanges.
