It really depends on what your conditions are terrain, slopes, type of snow. Blizzarks are great on glare ice/packed snow, not as good in deep snow or on inclines. Chains work very well on slopes, ice, deep snow but if you have to drive on pavement anywhere with the chains on, it a lumpy ride...

Any chance you have the engine mgmt option turned on? I have an '09 so their probably different but the only time I've dealt with what you described is when I played with turning the Engine Mgmt. On.

Use it, shake it up before putting it into the engine in case any additives have settled out.

Try loosening the fuel cap and see if the cap isn't venting enough under load.

Whatever's in it seems to work. I was sceptical for years but started using it in older gas equipment that sat for years and it definitely helped smooth them out.

Also, wipe the dipstick on a white paper towel. You'll see how clear it is pretty quickly.

I have mine since 2008 and no rust. I use sand instead of salt. As Ruffdog said, many are used by municipalities and they use copius amounts salt and don't care about rusty equipment.

Check the screw in sight glass on the side of the plastic hydraulic oil tank. It's near the fuel fill and mine leaked fluid that ran down the side of the plastic tank but did not go below the bottom of the sight glass fitting.

Verify what liquid is on the ground before going any further.

The fan motor on my 2009 D series makes a screeching sound when cold like it's a dry bearing. I looked into it and their pretty pricey. Might we worth taking out and cleaning what you and oiling any bearings. You can also bench test it for amp draw.

If it was tight sealed, your not going to get any condensation. I'd still run it through a paint filter and add it to a full tank of diesel. Especially during the winter.

Ageed, if/when I trade mine in I'll be swapping out the doors with my 2009 Series D. I use the lower window (especially on the passenger's side) all the time. I think it was a mistake for them to do away with them completely.

About 15 or so years ago when biodiesel came out, I started using it in my small Massey-Ferguson CUT and in a few months, the fuel rubber lines started to leak. That was something like only a 10-20% biodiesel mixture. I don't anything about this HVO or how it differs from BD.

The OEM oil filter fits. The one I got from Amsoil did not. The aftermarket Amsoil oil filter is a hair too long to fit between the nipple on the filter mount and the frame.
