    Stuck in the pond

That is some good info. I'll be honest, what I got out of that is I need a good snatch block. 🙂

    Stuck in the pond

Lol. Yeah, I've got the shorts comment before. It's the cab's fault.... It makes you forget that you're working a tractor like my youth. Gotta love air conditioning when it's 105° outside, and the heat when it's in the 20s. I do forget some days that I'm actually doing work. 🙂

    Stuck in the pond

I tried the bucket curl. I tried pushing the bucket flat, none of that worked. Pond is so thick from 50 plus years of just sitting there. Even with me walking out into it, it's a full 12 or 14 in to the packed clay bottom. So using the bucket curled downwards and pushing upward did raise up the...

    Stuck in the pond

Well I appreciate all the replies. Especially about the tire choice. The deal I got on the tractor says it came with R4's instead of R1's. My old yanmar gray model tractor had r1's and I never got it stuck, but it was also a 25 horse. My intentions were just to clean the bank out a little bit so...

    Stuck in the pond

Yup.... Thankfully, there's a large plate underneath the oil pan that stopped me from going any deeper... It was not my finest hour for sure.

    Stuck in the pond

Well, it finally happened. I've only got about 100 hours on my yanmar YT 359 tractor. Just long enough to feel comfortable and try and do something I probably shouldn't have. I was adding a run for my meat pigs to have access to the pond for water. I got a little too aggressive on how far I...

YT359C dome light activated by door switch

Howdy y'all I finally got around to finishing the install for the dome light switch to be activated when the door opened. I used a door jamb switch from Amazon. Tied it into the dome light switch and ran a separate ground wire all the way across the ceiling and down the b pillar. I decided to...

Baling wire options for farm use

Thanks for all the replies gentlemen. I'd seen that rebar tie wire on tractor supplies website. Wasn't sure about the twist power of it so I appreciate that feedback. I don't really need a 100year supply of it that comes in those big rolls 🤣🤣 but I guess it's a one-time purchase for the rest of...

Baling wire options for farm use

Howdy y'all I unexpectedly found myself without any extra pieces of baling wire laying around. I don't even know where I got the stash that I was using. All of my round bales are net wrapped, so I have no need for baling wire from a square baler. What is everyone else using as an alternative...

Dealer One less East Texas Yanmar Dealer

I grew up on my grandpa's open station tractors and he had the field tractor which was an old Massey Ferguson with the fabric bonnet look like a little house on the prairie bonnet to keep you out of the sun. And the yellow Massey was the loader tractor that he used for dirt work and everything...

Dealer One less East Texas Yanmar Dealer

I have the 359c. I grew up on my grandpa's farm, and None of his tractors had cabs. That's just one perk I wanted. It took me a minute to get used to the A/B mode- but I can pretty much do everything in 2nd gear. I only shift into 3rd when I need to get somewhere fast. The shuttle shift was also...

I'm sorry to hear that he passed away. I did have my YT359 serviced at the Karen's dealership before Christmas. There was mention of him opening a dealership in the Canton area.

YT359C dome light activated by door switch

I forgot that I took one picture of the dome light switch wiring. The bottom wire that is taped up, that is the wire that you will add to and run over to the door jamb switch. The door jamb switch that I purchased from Amazon grounds to the frame, and has one tab on the back to connect to the...

YT359C dome light activated by door switch

Morning y'all. I'm working on the dome lot to be activated with a door being opened. I took the dome light off and found that you can add a ground to the bottom pin of the dome light switch, and that will activate the dome light when the dome light is in the middle switch position. I took a lot...

    YT359C Sluggish Power steering

I watched that video from above, and this exact thing happens fairly often to me and really bad about 3 days ago. I'll figure out how to post it here as well. And the whole point about you should have the RPMs all the way up in order to turn the power steering, makes no sense to me. Part of the...

    YT359C Sluggish Power steering

I have the same issue, and have definitely experienced a little bit better response when the RPMs are raised. However, it shouldn't happen at all. And it certainly shouldn't have to have the RPMs raised up just to turn the steering wheel in a fluid motion. The whole point I bought the Yanmar was...

Solar Interest and Selling Power Back

I thought I replied to this already, but it seems to have disappeared. I use more than that, but I only average about 400 kW per month that I have to buy from the grid. I do have a gas tankless water heater and stove that have been converted to propane. I have an electric dryer but only use that...

Solar Interest and Selling Power Back

Yes. Gas (converted to propane) tankless water heater and stove, electric dryer when too cold to hang on the line. Only use the dishwasher and other appliances during the day. I should have said that better.... I use more but only have to buy about 400 kWh from the grid during the hot months.

Solar Interest and Selling Power Back

My $.02 worth... I have a small system about 6kw. Ground mount, and I've done everything bit by bit. I don't sell back yet, TVEC (co-op) does not like it's members to sell back. My inverter is a Sol-Ark unit. It has the option for Zero export mode. I think that's what it's called. There are...

    TY359 Review and comments

Well, I helped a neighbor move some hay yesterday when his tractor started leaking on the front axle and wouldn't let him back up. Still had the loss of power steering while carrying a hay bale. It's annoying to happen right in the middle of trying to position a bale to stop it right in place...

    TY359 Review and comments

I worked a little bit last weekend. Because of how easy it is to drive the YT359 without having to crank up the throttle manually, I was leaving it at idle. I raise it up some, not sure really where I had it set at but it did steer much smoother.

Same here. I'll try that next time and turn off the auto throttle. Dealer said her sets the front at 12-15psi. I'll check mine tomorrow. But it definitely feels like no hydraulic fluid when it happens.

    YT359C Sluggish Power steering

Evening folks. My new 359 is Amazing. Only took a bit of time to setup the A/B mode and it's awesome. I've noticed that my power steering stops working mid-turn (like old school cars that ran out of power steering fluid) when I'm at idle or slow speeds. It happens everytime I pick up a bale of...

New? Yanmar dealer in East Texas

My $.02 I grew up on my grandpa's farm with Massey Ferguson's and Ford's. When I bought my farm it came with a Yanmar YM 2500. Still works just rough. All of my farm neighbors have a different color between Branson Kubota tym and case. I purchased a Kioti, and due to some hydraulic internal...

Show off your Yanmars! (Picture Thread)

I agree on the cab part. I grew up on my grandpa's farm doing loader work and field work and only the loader had a canopy. That old Massey was just me and the sun all day long. Maybe because I'm getting older I really opted for the cab. But the view all around and not having to fight bugs at...

It's 59 HP, 51 or 52 at the PTO. Big difference going from geared 25 horsepower open station to air condition 59 horsepower. Much smoother and a whole lot nicer moving hay at 9:00 at night when it's still 97° outside.

    TY359 Review and comments

I just picked up my YT 359c on saturday. Well I guess it was delivered, not so much me picking it up. Moved a little bit of hay with it and it does take some getting used to. The ab mode does make things a little bit easier from going to get a bale of hay and then picking one up and bringing it...

    Looking at YT359C

I did go and test drive the tractor this Saturday. Had some family in town visiting and they went with me to give it the once over and donate their $0.02 worth. :-) Didn't have a lot of time to play with the ab mode, but pretty much everything else worked great. Thank you both for your recommendations. I've looked at grapples, but I don't think I'll ever really need one. Howdy y'all. Pretty new to the forum. Looking pretty seriously at the YT359C. I have a small farm in north Texas under 20 acres. I'm currently paying somebody to bale 8 acres two or three times a year worth about 60 to 75 round bales each year. Everything is mostly for the cows to eat. Just...
