On the subject of grapples, I'm pretty sure they're not better for brush piles than my pallet forks. The pallet forks do really well with logs too and they weigh less than the grapples so there's more lifting capacity. I've never felt like I needed a grapple. I wish I had a buddy who had one...

Others will correct me if I'm wrong but you cannot typically run a current through your multimeter. It's a measurement circuit and cannot handle full load current traveling through it. If you put the test probes in series with the circuit so that the circuit runs through the meter it might blow...

When I got my first tractor 5 years ago I eventually learned this idea... that for some of the zerks you need to move the attachments to alleviate pinch points so that they accept grease. This I found to be especially true with the backhoe zerks.

If you make a drum ballast you might consider placing some PVC conduit or pipe in the concrete so that you can carry some long-handled tools in the ballast.

By using the 3-point you relieve an enormous amount of weight from the front axle... but you have the reverse situation... you have to put a bucket load on the FEL or the front axle floats off the ground a bit and you're forced to use your split brakes to steer. I suppose it would be possible to get some lead sheeting and make some cylindrical sleeves to add some girth to the posts. It would be cheaper than new cables anyways and the conductivity should work fine. Just a thought.
