A taller tire travels further per revolution. But they are geared for tractor speeds, so if you are going 2mph with a small tire and 2mph with a tall tire, you're both going 2mph. The surface foot speed is the same but the tire RPMs are different.

On asphalt maybe. In dirt, I'd bet on the taller tires. If you took that example to the extreme, you could have tires about 4" tall and 6' wide. I'd still bet on the taller tires.

If it was just about footprint, you could put duals or triples on the BX and it should do as well as the L2401?

If it was just about Weight, you could hang 1,080 lbs + 1lb on the BX2680, and it would win a tug of war on the L2501. I would bet against that!

As I think about it, I think it has more to do with tangents and vectors. With a taller tire, more of the force is close to parallel with the ground.

I'm not sure I can explain the physics of a taller tire. I can only say that I grew up on a farm and the tractors with small diameter tires were always spinny. I think it is more than ground footprint, but also the geometry/leverage of a taller diameter. Those old John Deere B's didn't have...

If you mount the bucket hooks near the reinforcements as shown and use backing plates, you should have no problems. Also buy yourself a good quality chain.

Our township does an admirable thing. Every spring they put out a huge roll off and make it easy for residents to bring tires, appliances, TVs metal, etc. Pretty much everything is free to dispose of. Helps reduce roadside dumping.

I've had R1s, R4s and Turf tires. The turf tires did better in the snow than I expected. The R4s turned into racing slicks in greasy snow. The R1s were bt far and away the best in all types of snow.

I agree, however you might want to consider a bolt on tooth bar (piranha, Titan, Everything Attachments, Amazon, etc.) It will increase your ability to dig int sod, roots, etc.

The Weight, Loader Lift Capacity, SSQA, and No Goofy Treadle are big advantages for the Kioti.

Iv'e owned Shibaura, John Deere, New Holland and Kubota - liked em all. I'd like to own a Kioti and a Yanmar with that whizzy I-HMT (Integrated Hydro Mechanical Transmission).

I don't have an opinion on the rod size. All I know is that the curl function on every loader I've ever had has always been way more powerful than the lift function. I always attributed that to leverage and geometry.
