I skimmed through the latest video and kept wondering how you where going to do the front porch. It's a mystery to me how it's gonna look, but I'm looking forward to seeing it!!!

I’m guessing lag a header up against the wall below the upper window for rafters to tie in. Depending on depth of porch, probably 2x6 rafters max. Couple posts out on the porch with a header, put some standing seam on top with flashing against the wall.

Buckeye pretty much described my plan. It will be a pretty basic Portico designprobably about 8 feet wide. The doors are 6 feet wide. I would have loved to have it already built but the courtyard will be concrete so It would be easier to build after that is done.
Colder than charity here right now. Roads are pretty torn up from downed trees. I dont imagine we will have power back on for days.
When we get back to the build it will be inside work for a bit.

Today is Thursday. Power is still out but they are slowly bringing up the area. I have been feeding the open fireplace steadily. Tried to hotspot off my phone but it just doesn’t want to Stay connected.
I feel like I have some kind of stomach bug this morning. I have a conf call at 10:30. Might go back to bed till then.
Talked to another electrician yesterday who is starting their own company after working for someone else for many years. Gonna have him come look at my place and get a quote to do some work for me. Trying to explain to people what I have going on up here is like learning a new language.

Are you still running a generator for power at the house?

Yes. That is basically what I want to hire the electrician for. I would like to get the panel and sub panel wired up with the disconnect outside so I could have the power connected to the house finally.

18 degrees here this morning. I will be working inside today.

First order of business is to get a fire going in the stove.

Dropped a video this morning.

It looks like the more you get done, the more fun you have.
