My Industrial Cabin Build

The 1st one is our pole barn. The rest are residential homes near us. We live in the Cherokee National Forest. It is all done to code per the state of Tenn. and the electric power company. All of these have the main electric service panel inside the dwelling. Yes...it is interesting how things are done elsewhere in this great country !! We lived near Chicago for over 20 years and everything had to be run in conduit...no romex allowed and power was run to the meter then to the main breaker box...no disconnect outside. Go figure !

Sorry, been drinking from a firehose the last couple days. Have not had a chance to carefully read all the posts that came in. But a couple that I saw
The flashing for the vents, yeah iI am going to address that it will have to be an adhesive seal. You do not screw things thru a standing seam metal roof. They are supposed to float.

The box to the left of the meter is a disconnect. The 200 amp panel is inside on the other side off the mechanical room and because it is more than the max allowed distance from the meter I have to have a disconnect on the side of the house. Quite often the panel is on the other side of the wall from the meter.

Looks like the transfer box and conduit are right on the siding seam ? Did you make sure that seam is sealed well ? That could be a problem down the road if the sealant fails ?
The progress looks great and you will be excited to throw the power switch on !!!

The seam is well sealed. I am going to trim it out as best I can and put another layer of siding over the seam.

I forgot about that
NEC 230.70 A1 says the service entrance disconnect shall be outside or inside nearest the point of entrance. If the cables would have come in under the slab, you could have gotten away with using the panel main. Since the conduit crosses inside the house, you need the disconnect.

Makes sense now since you have a longer run from the meter to the main service panel inside ! Its a never ending obstacle of things to navigate...but you will get it !!

Somehow I lost the lengthy response I had typed up
The seam is well sealed behind that panel. But I will be working on a way to reenforce it just a bit. That isn’t how I expected it to be centered. Definitely going to trim it out.
It is a 200 amp, 8 space 16 circuit NEMA3 main breaker that serves as the disconnect. It will also allow me to bring in a line to power an EV charging station outside. Without pulling the wire into the house.
I was planning to run everything from the house, however I have decided to leave the temp panel up so that I have easy access to electricity when I build my barn over there and I will probably have them connect the barn/shop on a separate meter.
I was supposed to have the day off and was going to work on the house but I started doing paperwork this morning and that never ended.

So, is there an extra roofing panel below?

I guess my question is, did the roofers think they were done, "as is"?
