Grandpa… he would run the saw dry and take a break before refueling and then repeat depending on ambient temperature.

When I'm cutting off the pile, I have made a limit for myself.

ONE TANK FULL, then REST!.

But in this case "REST" means firing up the splitter, and rolling the rounds up near to hand. ;_)

Dang! I'm stupid!

So I had my first M18 battery fail, melted at the connector.
was 2 months left to the 3 year warranty.
Called Milwaukee warranty people, and replacement battery on the way!

No damage to the contacts on the tool? I deal with blown-up connectors as part of my job, ableit a different industry, and it's rare to see one side fail without also taking out its mate.

I got a Kobalt 40v one time from a local for 10 bucks and tore apart to figure out why it didnt work. 2019

She was like new but got hot and melted. No clue what the last owner did as there was no bar chain. But could only imagine.

Some folks just shouldn't own any chainsaws gas, batt, corded.

Good side

Bad side. Noticed mounted into plastic type stuff. When get hots it had melted.

Most of the little cooling fins were knocked off when it came loose. I pulled the rest to check it out closer.

Trying to learn to work on these seem to be mostly switches go out.

Used a dremel to remove the left behind plastic and then cleaned the contacts.

Milwaukee was my go to for decades but had a battery go bad on my first Milwaukee Cordless and was asked to return it for evaluation which I did.

Milwaukee said exposed to moisture???

I do construction but it was never subjected to water anymore than using it on a foggy SF morning.

I asked for the battery to be returned and was told it had been destroyed.

Have not bought Milwaukee since…
