Oil leaking from brake dust cover

The gray market YM1602D is very much like the domestic YM220D with the white headlamp fascia. The early YM220D machines are a little different.

The dash layout is even very similar, the seat controls are nearly the same, and the engine is in the same family series.

The Ym1601 1587Lbs. and the Ym1602 1521Lbs. I thought that was odd.
66 Lbs. lighter ?

I show the Hyd. Screen for the YM1602. #HS.4430.
Not showing the YM1601.My guess the YM1602 the same Filter Screen.
YM 1601-1610 Same Hyd. pump #HP-5C.
I use JD,303 equivalent. in my 4spd. Ym2000 Tractor Supply Universal.

What condition was the fluid in? Any idea about last fluid/filter change? If not then yes, change both.
I do not have access to a 1602 parts manual but here is what I think. I circled what I believe might be the flange that covers your internal suction screen. That screen would need to be cleaned. If no knowledge of last screw on filter change then it likely should be changed. No idea what condition your used fluid was in so I can't really advise a flushing. If everything was pretty clean looking I probably wouldn't do any flushing. A universal transmission/hydraulic fluid is recommended. No idea what you have access to in Spain, maybe Maverick will help you with that.
I removed the filter you mentioned and cleaned it.

I also removed that filter thinking it had the reference number written on it, but it's completely painted over, so I can't see the reference number.

Can you tell me the filter reference number?

What system do these two filters I removed correspond to?

the strainer and spin on or both for the transmission/hydraulics. This is the filter I used on my old 2002D. I have no way of knowing whether it would fit your 1602D or not. I can only suspect it would. If you could compare the part # for the 1602 and 2002 you could know for sure. Just make sure you get a filter with a good flow range.

This information says they use the same filter. Yanmar Tractor Hydraulic Filter, Spin-on Replaces 194250-48310

Ok, thanks, winston1
I see that John Deere 303 oil is no longer sold and its replacement must be John Deere HY-GARD.

Is this correct?

I found this online store in Spain where they sell it:

Yes, Yanmar TF500A or Deere Hy-Gard are suitable for your machine. (y)

I can't find that filter (WIX 51203) in Spanish online stores.

Do you know the reference number of an equivalent filter?

FWIW: but please verify that the thread and dimensions match.

I find that the store based cross reference to be generally more accurate, but they often over look possible filters.

All the best,

Just make sure you get a filter with an equivalent flow rating. many will screw on which is important, but also important not to choke your pump. with inadequate flow.
