Best Battery Replacement for the GC2410

LOL!! Well, reevaluating one's maintenance program is always good advice. While we're handing out friendly advice; I would reevaluate those $80.00 batteries that compel you to automatically replace every 5 years. There has to be something majorly haywire going on there.

Best Battery Replacement for the GC2410

That would be a TREMENDOUS waste of money for us. Most of our batteries last in the ten year range. Sometimes more. Our 2007 MF 1540 has the original battery still. Our 2011 Ford ranger just got it's first battery replacement. Our Craftsman riding mower battery was replaced this past year with...

    SICKLE MOWER VS FLAIL

There sure is! Take a look at a Rears SPF mower. Made in Eugene Oregon. Once you see one of these in person, all other brands look like flimsy pieces of junk. I bought the 6 foot SPF with the heavy duty, 2 position mast. Love it!!

    Compact Hay Equipment

I often wonder when seeing the ads for compact hay equipment, if people realize how little HP is required for standard light hay equipment. Our John Deere 24T takes very little HP. On a challenge, we baled our entire front field with the 24T powered by a 23 HP Ford 2N. Wasn't ideal and kind of a...

    1739e DPF issues

I would reconsider the "fighting" part. You took it to the shop. Let them make the repair.

    Forklift Mast Cylinder

Mission accomplished! Thank you for the tips. I woke up in the middle of the night and layed there wondering, "I wonder where the rod end is reletive to the top of the mast"? Sure enough, when the rod is setting in the cylinder between the shims ready to slide in, the rod end is about 2" below...

    Forklift Mast Cylinder

I have a Hyster XM-35 forklift. I pulled the rod and piston out of the main mast cylinder and resealed the gland and the piston. But I have hit a dead end trying to get the piston and rod back into the cylinder. I spent a couple of hours making slips from shim-stock to use as shoe horns. Newp...

    Your last generator Maintenance Run

Yes, if that was its requirement. We have many, many engines on our equipment, machines and vehicles. They are all maintained well, start and run when required. This includes generators. "Maintenance runs" more than annually to change oil are a waste of time and fuel in my opinion. BUT, you can...

    Your last generator Maintenance Run

Our first generator was bought in 1994. We run it once per year to change oil, or when needed. Our larger generator was bought in 2018. Same schedule. Anything else seems to me to be a waste of time and fuel.

    Steel/Wood Flatbed for my 2012 F-250 - Too heavy?

O.K., here's another opinion: WAY, WAY too heavy for an F-250. My attitude is, the lighter, the better. I have a 17' aluminum, Intercontental Truck Body bed on our F-550 that weighs less than your design. Save your steel for another project and buy an aluminum bed. As stated above; every ounce...

    Ford 2N 9N 8N valve job

So after 32 years of owning a 1942 Ford 2N and using it almost daily, I decided to do a valve job. But how to recondition the seats??? "lapping" the valves is really half-assed after all these hours so that was out. I decided to buy a valve cutting set from Neway. HOWEVER, I quickly found out...

Hooking Jumper Cables Directly to Starter.

Today I talked with a friend and found out that his 45 year old son was run over by a large tractor that he was working on. Before he even began to tell me the details, I had already guessed what had happened. Many people have been killed while working on farm tractors and making the decision...

I need an expedient ballast weight on 3PH

If I were you I would buy a set of 3pt forks. They are cheap and you can pick up a pallet with any amount of things that weigh your desired counter weight amount. Later on you will be surprised how much you can carry with forks on the front and back. :D

    McCormick Model 45 Baler Parts

I have a McCormick Model 45 baler that has been one of the most dependable machines imaginable. Well, today one of the bill hooks broke. Calling around to the dealers, they really don't know anything about such an old model. Anyone out ther know if the bill hook crosses over to other or newer...

    Multi-Trac 2100 11.2x28 R1 Tire

I picked up a '52 Ford 8N with ONE brand new rear tire. I would like to find one (new) so that I do not have a mis-matched set of tires. Do you know of a place that may have this tire? All of our local tire shops aren't much into tractors. I am in Salem Oregon but could pay some shipping rather...
