    Switching to Synthetic....HELP!

I don't know that much about oil..(although I know a whole lot more than I did a couple of days ago thanks to this site.) Anyway, after reading several threads on this site, I am thinking that I want to switch to synthetic oil in my Montana 4940. My manual calls for 20w40 oil, but my dealer uses...

Bumper Pull vs. Gooseneck....Help me choose!

Hello to all. First of all, I have been pulling since I was old enough to drive, with both bumper pulls, and lately with my gooseneck. I am pulling with an '05 Ford F-250 PSD. I am already setup to pull either style of trailer. I pull, on average, 5500 lbs. to 7000 lbs. of equipment, not...

Rotella 5w-40 synthetic in Montana 4940?

I maybe should put this in the oil/lubricant forum, but thought I'd try here since there are Montana dealers here. Has anyone used Rotella 5w-40 synthetic, or the Royal Purple equivalant in the Montana tractors, particularly a 4940? Would there be any reason not to try using it, and if not...

Air bag system vs. weight distributing hitch?

I have always assumed I would get an airbag system similar to this LoadLIfter 5000 Air Springs. My question is, would something like this be a better way to go, or would it be better to get a weight distributing hitch instead? I haul about 7 or 8 thousand lbs. pretty consistently on a 20'...

    Grill Guard Pictures?

Does anyone have a picture of a Montana 4340 or 4940 with the curved boom loader, that has a grill guard installed? I would also like to see any pics of a Montana tractor with a grill guard?

    Big Sky AC Perfomance?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about trading my 4940 for a 5740C, and I was wondering if anyone that owns a cabbed Montana would share how well their AC system cools the cab. I am especially interested to hear how it does in extreme heat.

    Spinners for my Montana

Does anyone know if there is a spinner for the steering wheel of Montana tractors? Particularly a 4940?

    power steering arm replacement

I need to replace a power steering hydraulic arm and don't really care to pay to have it done. To any one who has experience, how do I do this. I need to take off the old one and put the new one on. I don't really have any experience at this.

    Montana hydraulic lever extensions

I was wondering if anyone has adapted the the hydraulic remote levers on a Montana 4940 or a similar model. They are a little short. I put a top n tilt system on my machine, and I would like to figure out a way to extend the little levers so I can reach them better to operate the top n tilt. -Gavin

hyd. cylinder. Where to drill holes?

I bought a top n tilt set up the other day. The hyd. cylinder that causes the blade to angle, say for cutting a ditch or something, is too long. However it is the shortest one made. The part of the cylinder that attaches to the lower 3pt arm( I am not sure of the name of this "part", so I took a...

hydraulic cylinders on a Montana 4940

I use my 4940 to mow commercially. I want to start box blading commercially as well. I am going to replace my top link with a hydraulic cylinder, as well as put one on the 3pt arm that already has a manual tilt adjustment. Anybody have any advice?? Thanks!

    My shredder/vac/blower shocks my hand!!!!!!!

I recently bought a reconstructed echo ES-210 shred-n-vac. It shocks my hand when I use it. Not bad, although I can definetly feel it. I wonder if when it was reconstructed a ground wire wasn't put back on or something. I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem, and how to fix it. I'm...
