    Lefty Shooting?

I shoot LH because I'm left eye dominant. I have a few bolt action rifles and I have no trouble cycling bolt action guns. From around 8yrs old couldn't shoot good at all and my Dad was frustrated, I put the gun in my left hand and did great, been shooting left handed ever since. Handguns I shoot...

We got 20 facecord of red oak, white oak and ash put up in the woodshed. Most winters we will use 14 to 18 facecord. Woodstove is our only heat source so don't want to run out. Our delivery guy says dont call me after the snow flies and expect me to plow my wood yard because you didn't order...

    Looking for a log splitter

Just bought an Oregon 30 ton log splitter. We burn between 14 to 18 facecord of mostly oak and ash. I buy our firewood split but there are some large pieces and it's getting harder to swing a maul as I approach 70yrs old. Found some big knotted pieces and the splitter just popped through without...

How did you meet your better half?

Went to a new catholic grammar school as did my brother. He was in the 5th grade and I was in 4th. The principal always taught the highest grade and they added a grade each year up to the 8th grade. My wife and her twin sister were in my brothers grade and I spent a lot of time in their...

    Magnetic brooms

Had our old deck replaced and there were nails and scwews everywhere. Got the wheeled magnetic broom at Tractor Supply and spent a week sweeping the backyard. Filled 3 gallon jugs before I was comfortable driving the zero turn over the area. Very powerful and a worthwhile tool.

    Looking for small off-road trailer

Looked at Northern Tool for their small aluminum trailer but was always out of stock. Wanted it for our Kubota rtv500, ended up getting an Alumna 4X6 ft that is road worthy and also fits in the trails we cut in our woods. I've been carrying 3pt attachments to a friend's camp behind the Subaru as...

Middle Buster/Potato Harvester for sub-compact Kubota

BXAK Just ordered a potato plow from Everything Attachments, it's due to be delivered tomorrow by UPS. They are on sale as we speak. My plan is widen a drainage ditch from our pond that has gotten overgrown with weeds so I'm not digging it deeper just making it wider to keep the water flowing...

    Friday, the 13th

Wife and I were cruising down a back county rode on a motorcycle on the way to a state park. While in a tight right handed curve zipping downhill I saw a turkey on the opposite shoulder of the road. We were leaning hard and a farm truck coming from the other direction hit the turkey as it flew...

    Stuck gear

This happened to my Ford 1720 a couple of times. Was able to rock the tractor with the front end loader enough to take the pressure off the transmission and pop it into gear. I'm careful now when shifting gears and it hasn't happened since. 1450hrs are on the hour meter.

If it's cold where you live, what are you heating with and what is it costing?

We are starting the heating season off with a new Lopi Evergreen wood stove. We had 14 facecord of Red, White Oak and Ash delivered in Sept. for $1050. It is currently 17 degrees and we have used 1 1/2 facecord this season so far. We are in W. NY at 1700ft elevation in a 20 X 24ft log cabin...
