I’m not sure how many hours on these blades, maybe 300 to 400. The left blade of the three was worn the most, I’m not sure why?

If you are right handed you probably turn right the most, making a longer turning radius for the left side. Fact or fiction, I don’t really know but it does add up

I'm right handed but turn mostly left 🤔

Too much NASCAR in my youth?

Discharge is on the right turning left avoids blowing the cuttings into the next path. I'm sure that will get me a lot of corrections, but that is my method

There is only one correct way; getter done.
Which way I turn my ZTR depends upon wind direction.
Dodge man, I don't need a mulcher or bagger. I use Gator Blades, they chop up everything small enough it disappears quickly, kinda spendy though @ $60 for a set of three blades, but they do last 4-5 years.

Good reminder @dodge man

My rear finish mower has been leaving a less than perfect cut in some conditions it should have no problem with. Need to crawl under there and check out the blades.

You got a mower on the excavator now?

Not sure what you mean? But I have several mowing appliances. Including a bush hog for my excavator. The bucket is on right now. I was referring to a 6 foot Land Pride rear finish mower I use behind a Kubota B2601. Which is my favorite mowing weapon.

I have never needed to sharpen the blades on the excavator bush hog with the low hours I put on it. Also, the nuts are welded on. So I am not looking forward to grinding those welds off and flipping the blades and re-welding when the time comes. I try to keep it out of the rocks - LOL!

Here is the excavator with the bush hog in action if you want to see it working.

Hey, even your old blades are like new! Here's what old and new looked like when I changed mine. What caused the jagged edges on the old blades is what I can't figure out!

That makes sense...given that I'm mowing about 50 acres of desert - pockmarked by dirt mounds from ground squirrels, gophers, and badgers.
Saw the effects of sand on mower blades in S. Florida. Virtually every operator has to wear goggles while mowing due to blowing sand, and most wear long-sleeve shirt, even in 90° weather.

Which is why I REALLY appreciate the cab on my M7060. Be it sand or dust or bugs or hot or cold...I don't care! I do have to clean the cab air filter daily and sometimes twice a day.

deserteagle1, i would love to have a cabbed tractor, but every one of my fields are surrounded by forest, making mowing under the limbs impractical, i even have to fold down my roll bar, even then the upright muffer catches on tree limbs, I've straightened it so many times I've lost count.
Guess I should hire a tree company to come in and cut every limb lower than 10'. I've cut as high as I can reach, I used to have to lay down on the steering wheel of my Ferguson 30 to mow under them.

Sand will tear up a blade fast. When I lived in Maine, blades lasted me 6-8 years, now with the sandy soil I have here in Virginia I'm lucky to get 2 years out of a set. I know folks in Florida who feel lucky to get 1 year out of a set of blades. Sand hitting blades that are moving at about 16,500 ft/min(typical blade tip speed) is like taking them to a grindstone.
