LX 280 does not respond to ignition switch

The mower deck was engaged at too low rpm and stalled the engine . Now When I turn the ignition switch there is no response. With the switch on I can here a clicking when engage and disengage the mower know. I can turn the pully on the bottom of the engine without the engine turning .I checked the 2 15 amp fuses under the dashboard. Looking for input.

Be sure the mower PTO switch is off when trying to restart the engine with the ignition key.

If no click when turning key I suspect safety switch not in home position. Not sure where all the safety interlock switches are on that machine but suspect seat, forward - reverse or brake, PTO.

Your brake switch is also in the crank circuit. Many Deere's will not engage the PTO with the brake on, so it could be a thing.

Thanks for all replies. I am trying to locate all safety switches at this time and test each one . Does anyone have input on locations of switches on the LX 280?

The only two switches in the crank circuit beyond the key switch is the PTO and brake switch. I only have that manual in paper. Typically though, you would follow the purple wire out of the key switch as it heads for the starter solenoid as it goes through the two safety switches.

Good thread! I have the 280 as well and its been great so far with 270hrs. Think its a 2012 year model I bought used with 100hrs on it. will be watching this thread for updates.
