I'm planning on ditching my old worn out leather wallet for one of the new metal RFID blocking metal ones. Does anybody have a suggestion on the best out there. I did a search on Google and now all my social media contains is ads for wallets.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Instead of an RFID wallet, I use these sleeves to hold my cards. Fits in my existing wallet.

I've been thinking of trying one of these RFID blockers, which is supposed to protect the entire wallet:

I operate on the principle - RFID is a problem for the larger cities. I really doubt that those who scan RFID have the time or patients to come out here in the country. I could be wrong but so far there has been no problems out here. Besides my leather motorcycle wallet puts enough of a pain on my backside. I do not need a metal wallet back there.

I understand what both of you are saying but, my wallet hurts my butt on long drives so I take it out then stop and go in a resturaunt and my wallet is in the car. So I want one I carry in my front pocket. Also going to be doing a LOT of traveling starting in June. Going to Europe for a couple weeks and a neighbor who has made about a hundred trips there over twenty years has emphasized not to carry a billfold in my back pocket. I may still use my old one here but the metal one while traveling.

My BIL spent four years - Spain/France/Germany. He has told me - if I ever go over that way, get the best protection for your valuables that you can find. And seek professional advice on securing all the items required to make the trip to Europe. I've only began exploring America - absolutely no plans to go to Europe.

Simply cut a section of aluminum foil that barely fits into the money slot of your present wallet, it blocks the very weak RFID signal from scanning anything in your leather wallet.
That RFID signal only travels through open air for about 1-2" maximum.

I am stuck between the 'Proof Wallet' and the 'Ridge Wallet'. Proof is twice as expensive but has a lifetime warranty. Also has some features I like over the Ridge. Is it worth twice as much?

I have been carrying my leather wallet in my front pocket for over 30 years. A chiropractor told me that back pocket wallets are the primary reason for hip pain.

I've used the Ridge wallet since they first came out. Just got my second new one for Christmas this past year. I like them. I had the money strap on the first one and got the clip on this latest one. I think I like the strap better.

I purchased Pelican made wallet a few years ago. They are big names in protective cases. I wanted something that would keep what i carry to a minimum. RFID and something i dont have to worry about getting my cash wet.

Ive been happy with it. Works great.

Forgot that it keeps dust out as well. I run an excavator on a pipe crew so dust is a problem for most wallets. My CCs always start to peel apart b/c of the dust and sliding them into the machines.

I just traveled to Europe last summer. I got rid of my traditional leather fold and got a very slim wallet that I love. It holds a few cards, drivers license, and some cash. But the bigger thing for Europe is to get a money wallet that goes around your waist. A wallet in the front pocket could be easier to get than the back pocket, depending on the fit. The thin wallets are much more comfortable to have in your back pocket while driving.

I was very comfortable with the money wallet around my waist. It allowed me to completely conceal it and have no concerns of needing to use my arms for other things. I placed my wallet, several family members passports, and keys in it.

I have the crossbody wallet/pouch that will hold my passport, wallet, and phone. What I'm wanting is a small metal wallet to replace my large leather one. Too many choices out there.

I would get something under your clothing (neck pouch, waist money belt, etc.) for passport/wallet items. Petty cash in a front pocket, credit card zipped in somewhere else on your person.

In my experience, a cross body pouch is pretty low hanging fruit for most pick pocket gangs. I've had friends lose the bag to two people on a moped, one driving, one with some razor sharp tool.

Tourists are pretty obvious to most locals; they are looking at things, not necessarily their environment, they look different, and they are wearing "foreign" clothing. I think ant least one or two of those are hard to change.

Remember to have fun.

All the best,

Peter

Worked with a guy who’s doc said the same thing when he was having lower back pain.

I switched to putting my wallet in the front pocket because I kept bending credit cards on the motorcycle.

I also carry the Ridge in my front pocket. I put it in the center console when driving long distances.

I hated carrying a wallet around. I kept putting stuff in it and it seemed to get bigger and bigger over the years. I also couldn't find it more times than I want to admit.

One day on Amazon, I came across slim wallets that where yellow. Amazon.com

It's been the best wallet I've ever owned. Clear side for my drivers license, which I show at Lowes and Home Depot for my Military Discount several times a week. I got rid of business cards and random stuff that I didn't need. Now I just have my drivers license, debit card, credit card, hunting license, medical insurance card and some cash.

When I drive I put it on my dash. It's bright yellow, so I never forget it when I go into the store. The rest of the day it's on my dash. It's on my dash right now. It's always on my dashboard in my truck. I hate carrying it around.

I tried the Ridge wallet when it first came out. I found it to be too bulky. The Ridge is a minimalist wallet but it's still pretty thick for someone who likes to carry a couple IDs, a couple credit cards and a little cash. It probably didn't help that I had the money clip version. Once the novelty of it wore off, I ditched it. I carry a minimalist zipper wallet made of a soft material in my front pocket now.
