The pegs that came on my XT250 looked like they belonged on a minibike so one of the first things I did was to buy a set of larger ones.

I'm glad it's riding season for you and those who live in the south! Here there's still snow on the ground and the roads are gritted with cinders and salt.

I bought a new, leftover 2025 1300GS 3 weeks ago. It had 2 miles on it and still does, I've never ridden it yet. :(
I have been doing a few things to it though. It came with the small sport shield which I replaced with a tinted tour shield and I added a fender extender to keep some of the dirt off the front of the engine. Also added a larger plate on the luggage rack to carry the tent and gear, and for panniers I ordered SW-Motech, top load aluminum ones from Europe. I hope they don't get held up or that I get hit too hard with customs.

Come on Spring, daylight savings time starts in 12 days!View attachment 5086086
I actually removed the stock pegs from my CRF250F and put them on my customized Coleman mini-bike. Always repurposing...

That is a sweet looking BMW; congrats on the new bike. Is that your stable or the dealership?

That bike is full of technology! and a pretty high price tag. Hope it works out great for you.
Yeah probably too much. The price wasn't too bad, as a leftover he discounted it $5,000 and there were no prep or fees. I think it'll be a nice all around motorcycle. 🤞

Went for a scooterpop yesterday for about an hour or 2.
Temp was 84F
I also went for a scooter ride yesterday. Just 50 miles of mostly twisty back country roads on Triumph Speedmaster. It's one sweet old cruiser. It was 92º here. I got a little hot, reminding me to ride everyday before the real heat of summer arrives.

How is the vibration? How do they control it?
This engine has peaked my interests, as I used to have a yamaha 650 special twin.

It's a 2022 model with the 1200cc twin. I don't feel any vibration. It runs smooth. It is a very unique motorcycle. The seating and handlebars are old school. I'm not sure it would be comfortable for long hauls but it's fun enough to putt around on... and really has loads of power all through the rev range. But the single seat and beach-cruiser handle bars really only give you one position to sit. That can be tiring. I've added a crash bar with cruiser pegs to give some seating relief.

I took this out yesterday for the first time in a few months. It has no fuel petcock, but always has been run with non-ethanol gas. It started within about 6 or 7 pulls of the rope, took a few minutes to warm up and ran flawlessly. It's a good little acreage runabout.

@Bocephous yes, I bet your bike "scoots"! You've put a chunk of work into it, and I bet it is fun to ride around in.

All the best, Peter

Yesterday was a busy afternoon in my garage. I adjusted the valves on my new to me 2000 Rancher 350 for the first time (I think first time adjusting any valves ever); not a bad job once the appropriate plastics were removed.

Then I broke my XR out of solitary confinement in my basement yesterday and took it for a short ride to warm the oil up.

Came back and checked it according to the Clymer manual and it was on the bottom side of normal, and dirty looking, even though it only had 350 miles on the oil (changed by previous owner at 400 and 600 miles).

So I dumped the oil, changed it out with 2 quarts of T6 5W-40, fresh HF filter and 2 magnetic drain bolts. After that I proceeded to take it for its first jaunt around our dirt road "block."

I really believe I'm going to love this bike. Lowering it over the winter was wise as it felt a lot better than it did at its stock height. Lower seat, too.

Bocephus did you put a lowering kit on it, or just lower as much as possible the stock suspension?

Sprained ankle from dumping the CRF at low speed nearly healed...took the Speedmaster out for a gas up and started out on a little cruise but the high winds sent me home. Not so much fun but hey I got a ride...

Nice bikes. I love the Honda reliability. Many of us grew up riding Hondas. What size and year is the Big Red?
