Lots happening here in Houghton today. Blowing out of the NW and temps near zero, sometimes snowing like crazy. Just parked a new atv in the shed. Will post pics later.

You know it's a good winter if your two tracking it with snowmobiles and have to stop to clear the snow off the head lights and have to take a leak off the running boards cuz snow is over your waste if you step off the machine. To take pics in that deep of snow I would have probably dropped my phone/ camera and lost forever. Did take these though, cool spot off a marked trail imo. It's not exactly the keweenaw but close enough.

Nice! We had some whiteout conditions near here over the weekend. Scary stuff.... not me, but the other guys. ;)

I want to live there. I am so tired of the winters in SE Minnesota. Mother nature is cruel. Growing up in the 1960s we had real winter but we had minimal snow removal equipment. Our driveway was usually plowed with two teenagers with scoop shovels, my brother and me. We did enjoy ice skating and sledding but the real toys (snowmobiles) hadn't arrived yet. Snowmobiles started showing up in the late 60s and were everywhere by the early 70s.

So now we all have world class snow removal equipment and the toys to enjoy the snowfall and we get very little. When we get is usually melts away with a week or it is too warm and the result is an inch of rain in January.

I think the UP of Michigan may be the only place left that will give me the snow rush I need.
