25hp tractor- TYM or LS?

I have the NH Workmaster 25, which is made by LS for NH based on the MT225 model. I first tried the Workmaster 25S, which is based on the MT125 model. It was too small, basically a garden tractor with a FEL. Wouldn't handle a Land Pride 4' cutter, the tail was wagging the dog. Moved up to the Workmaster 25, it handles it no problem. It is a 25 hp tractor so it has its limits. What it lacks is some comfort items like a tilt steering column and a retractable seat belt.

But for what I needed it works well. I can maneuver closer to the stables or flowerbeds when dumping material with a smaller bucket than my other 2 tractors. It mows around trees better than my other mowing tractor, the Workmaster 75 with a 6' cutter. I use low range almost exclusively for my needs, I didn't buy it for a road tractor.

The Workmaster 25 is really a nice machine, and was one of the tractors on my short list.

Unfortunately I am an amateur big and tall model and the operator platform was a little tight.

Folks I’m in the research phase of getting a new tractor hopefully next year. Would be a 25 hp +/- tractor with front end loader for general homestead use. Looking at the TYM 2515H vs LS MT226E but also a couple of their smaller models (TYM25 or LS MT225). Any experience with these models or recommendations between TYM and LS brands appreciated.
Check the rear pto hp.

Take your ******** and bring it to Orange Tractor Talk, because it isn't wanted here.
Best of luck with your machines, I sincerely wish anyone who buys these the best. But what I stated is true, whether you like it or not. I’ve previously been a recipient of exactly what I described.

The problem with TYM and LS is parts when you need them.
Kubota is 100% Kubota parts unlike LS and TYM.
Waiting for parts is a common issue with them.
I have friends that depend on their equipment, and they wish had spent more for Kubota instead of the nightmare down time that is months in waiting.

I'm sorry you had a poor experience. You're still holding nothing more than an opinion based on that experience. I, in contrast, have had the opposite experience and hold an opposite opinion. Opinions are not facts.

You're basing the bashing of a wide swath of brands based on your experience with one, currently unknown, brand. Was it a Kioti? A Mahindra? Or did you purchase an orphan machine produced by a 3rd party for a company that doesn't exist any longer.

Folks here have had negative experiences with Deere, Kubota, Massey, and every brand in between. If there were a perfect brand, well,. we would all be purchasing it.

With regards to LS, this can be helped by purchasing the New Holland or Case IH equivalent as it seems their dealers have priority in parts support.

From my experience here you just don't see people complaining about CNH with parts support.

I have an LS, bought new in 2012, walked into the local dealer last summer and bought 6 oil filters, along with multiple air and fuel filters. Dealer had all in stock.

Don’t know about other LS dealers, but my local guy hasn’t had any issues. Can also order parts online, but they are more expensive.

I feel you can’t go wrong with either tractor, as long as you have a good dealer in the area

One key point to remember, the PTO horsepower (hp) to typically lower than its full rated hp, so make sure you buy a tractor with enough PTO hp to run the attachments you own or plan to buy.

I didnt make it all the way through, but...

Are you sure you want 25hp? When I bought mine, it was only like $3k more to jump from 25 hp (CK2610) to a 35 hp (CK3510). In hindsight, I would rather pay the extra $30/month, for the 10 hp (28.5% more).

So, people on here often point out, weight is what matters, or traction really, and there is some true to that, but HP to match that traction is important too.

So, with that, I did look at the TYM 2515, side by side with the Kioti. The TYM was $1500 more, and I didnt like the seat as much, plus I like the color orange. The LS also looks like a good machine, but I didnt get a chance to really dig into them as much.

Guess to sum that up at but clearer; atleast price the next HP category up. I dont know the full line of TYM or LS, but there would be a 3515, 4015, ect. Dont kniw if there is a 3015, I dont know that 5 hp would be noticeable; but 10Hp would be. Atleast see how much the price jump is.

Indeed, understand that a large frame 25 horsepower compacts will do great things, but they're going to do it slowly.

My neighbor is getting out of the horse business and has an old Kubota 3010 that's always been shedded with 400 hours on it.

I'd personally look for something like that. Pre emission and more HP. I assume that is why you want 25hp to begin with?

Also, some will disagree, which is fine; the the emissions stuff is grossly exaggerated. It does add cost, but besides that, its pretty much a non issue. I wouldn't avoid 28% more power over a DPF, if that is a hold up. Its basically a catalytic converter; its not rocket surgery. Do the regens when it tells you too, and you won't even notice.

Given the choice of 35hp with DPF or 35hp without, yeah, I'd choose without; but given the choice of 25hp without, vs 35hp with; now, I would choose 35hp.

LS vs TYM, also check ground clearance.
When I bought my TYM T25, I was getting a backhoe too.

The subframe on LS was really low and the clearance was just a few inches. TYM was much much better/higher ground clearance than LS w a hoe attached.

TYM lift is better than an equal LS (if I remember right).

Pricing was really similar, but LS had a better finance option at the time. But I went with TYM anyway.

Note: I wanted the 2515, but the only one in stock locally wasn’t budging on price. So we went to a different dealer, who also had a T25, (no it’s not a 2515, we just hadn’t considered a T25 until then). Decided to go w T25. It’s a great fit for us. I have 46hours on the T25 and prob 10-15 hrs on the backhoe.
