Folks I’m in the research phase of getting a new tractor hopefully next year. Would be a 25 hp +/- tractor with front end loader for general homestead use. Looking at the TYM 2515H vs LS MT226E but also a couple of their smaller models (TYM25 or LS MT225). Any experience with these models or recommendations between TYM and LS brands appreciated.

More to the question at hand. The biggest difference that is sometimes overlooked between those two brands is that the TYM models lift higher than their LS peers. I know when I was looking the LS that was closest to my TYM lifted 12" shorter.

Lift capacity is listed to max height, so a lower max height also means less lift capacity through the lift curve.

Other than that, they seem to be fairly close. Find the one that suits you with a dealer that values your time and money.

I have had 3 LS tractors (including a Montana) and if you do your scheduled maintenance, give it a nice covered home (if you can) and treat it as if its a small tractor and not a bulldozer they should serve you well.

I bought a New Holland Workmaster 25 with hydro trans and FEL, which is basically a rebadged LS. I took it back less than two weeks later. No where near enough power for that much tractor. Low range was fine. Medium range was OK if you don't go up hills. High range was useless.

I took it back and got a 40 HP version and never looked back.

I checked out both LS and TYM and decided on a Kioti. One reason was Dealer is closest and is an awesome dealer. Have been real happy and Like the layout of the Cab better on the Kioti. Been thinking about getting another.

I have a L3901 and had a BX25 for 12 years ....Have found that the Kubota Brand is extremely well built and Holds its Value for the Life of the Tractor. It goes beyond engineering as I have had the Kubota batteries last over 10 years. The BX did all I needed till I got into heavy ditch digging.

It's all about the dealer in Louisiana. Small dealers are always popping up then disappear within 2-3 years, leaving owners scrambling to find the "next" closest dealer with a real mechanic shop. Recently one dealer near me did exactly this with LS, said mfg floor plan changed, "poof" gone. Seems like a bad business model to me, leaving owners stranded with a bad taste in their mouth and bashing a brand by word of mouth.

Both brands are good with different advantages. TYM does have amazing front loader capacity that has been proven in real world situations.
I will echo earlier response - keep dealer proximity and reputation in mind.
If you have the ability to transport it after the sale then that will expand how far you can travel for after the sale support.

I have both brands in the "next size up" variety. I'm much more impressed with my TYM 574 as opposed to my LS XR4145. Build quality, ergonomics, "beefiness", etc. FWIW.

That's the tradeoff with an 'obese' tractor. It's the value of simplicity.

That said, if I relied on my machine commercially, an oversized 25 horsepower tractor wouldn't cut it. They just move too slow. Also, if you need PTO power, they just don't have it.
