Neither verizon or frontier will repair a damaged line line in my part of the country. Broken and done here

It’s also funny when someone posts a picture of a phone jack or phone wire and asked “what is this stuff”

Well… I thought it would be simple to ditch the 65 year old landline of my folks and the $91 monthly base expense and port the family number over to Consumer Cellular 13.95 base no data to speak of service…

Order the flip phone and paid $45+ and declined express shipping.

Phone arrived and I called in on December 24th asking if I can activate after Christmas… sure, no problem.

Called in today and during the 41 minute call learned account cancelled and I would have to start over and that plan no longer available… sounds like fraud to me.

I said I’m returning phone and was told max credit is $26

Meanwhile, I’ve already been billed for partial month service on an account they cancelled…

65 years landline and no service issues, even during extended power failures.

It’s just the $91 a month that is hard to swallow.

Look at the positives:
The value of your property will drop every year as people find out about cell tower radio frequency issues and possible diseases. In 25 years your property taxes ought to approach zero. But, the value of your $2500 check will drop too. but a free desert somewhere (with a coupon).

That blinking red light on the top will eliminate the need for light lights in the house. Some lights are now brilliant blue-white, insist on these to trip any epilepsy reactions in your family.

When an airplane accidently hits one, you may be entitled to get your house replaced for free.

Jumpers fed up with life may ask you for favors in notifying next of kin. Maybe you'll meet some very nice people along the way.

Don't have to worry about a new neighborhood being built next door. They'll move on.

If it get's hit by lightning, and you can prove it with video, your YouTube Channel checks will be amazing.

Because they have their own standby generators, if your power goes out because the new data center needed extra juice for storing the advice on how to make change for a dollar, you can probably tap into their power supply without anyone knowing.

When they become obsolete (because satellite technology will replace them), there's a certainly LOT of steel and copper to be available for scrap!
But still, what a great place to mount security cameras !

Deer stand? Oh my !
Good luck. Better you get one than me....

Odd thing is Generac’s new cellular device can scan and use best service, whether that’s Verizon, at&t, whatever. Didnt think that was even a thing.

For data service, there are a number of plans that offer service across most (all?) providers. It is very convenient when you have a gizmo going who knows where. You can ship it off and if there is cell service, it will use it. I have a couple.

All the best,

Peter

Maybe… the farm house is the closet and only building and it’s 45 acres away… no trucks through the farm yard as tower would have dedicated access from a boundary road on the side.

The lease had built in CPI accelerator and a provision if tower is altered/expanded…

To the back and side tens of thousands of acres where cattle seasonally graze…

If RF is bad… I’m afraid we are already cooked.

Landline with associated city taxes and fees is getting very pricey and that only covers local calling.
