Now to start this thread off, im 14 years old okay. Today, I went and purchased a used Yanmar 169D for $2800 from a christmas tree farmer an hour and a half away. I drove it around and it passed my inspection and it is now at home waiting for me to drive it and its in excelent condition. I am so glad that the 169 is now mine.:D I plan to do lots of grading and eventually snow plowing this winter. I really want it to snow now! I did notice that the hour meter only goes up to 3 didget numbers and the tractor has 990 hours. What will happen after 1000 hours? Will it go back to 1? Or will it use the minute number as an hour section?

Thats a nice little tractor man. Good score thats for sure. I got a 155D and wish mine was a bit bigger but what can you do. As for the hour meter, my guess is yours will have either 1990 hours or 2990 hours or 3990 hours, etc. I know my 155D read 606.4 when i bought it. Im at 709 now in 1 year later. My guess is mine has close to 3000 hours on it just from the shape and how the tractor runs. Mine runs good but sure wish it was a little newer so that it had a working glow plug. Ill post some pictures of my tractor on my thread, i just built a front mount 5 position blade with hydralic lift on mine. Check out the pics if you want some idea's

That tractor looks in great shape...... congratulations! Your hour meter will roll over and go back to zero after 999. I wish I had your enthusiasm for tractors when I was your age....... i'd be way ahead of the game now. :)

Congratulations young man. I know how enthused you are and I know you will remember all your training and safety skills as well.

Well that tractor of yours is flat out pretty. You did yourself well. In a few more hours, you will watch your hour meter roll over and in a way, it will pretty much be YOUR hour meter log. Nice.

Gonna drain all the fluids, just to be sure? It gives you confidence and pride of ownership in doing so, anyway.

This was my Dad's tractor that I ran at your age. Fond remembrances.
That's my grandson on the seat. I suppose he will want to be driving my Kobota in a few years. No, wait, he already does!! :D

Complete with fly swatter implement.

Nice tractor, I ship Yanmar parts to a Christmas tree farmer in Philomath OR, is that close to you?

Im 20 miles from portland, Or. The parts I will get next year will be mainly to maintain the tractor. New filters, etc.

Have you checked in with Ernie at http://ernies.net/ for Yanmar support? He is located just south of Molalla, OR and frequently answers questions on this site.

Well here we are, 16 years later. I sold my first Yanmar back when I was 16 to get my first skidsteer. Yesterday I got the opportunity to bring home an identical unit, not quite as nice but it certainly has potential. Looking forward to getting it back into shape as time allows. I’m a little bummed that someone cut the ROPS off of this one but since this model was popular on Christmas tree farms in the PNW I’m hoping a parts machine will come along at some point. For now, I’m just happy to have a Yanmar again, gotta balance out the other colors of equipment right?

Looks like a winner. Yes, keep this thread going with the restoration on this YM169D.

Hoye is gone. :(

Brand-M, Fredricks, and others listed on the YTOG have parts.

Need free manuals, we got them on the YTOG.

BTW, the YTOG is still around, just a new location. Going on 35+ years.
