I suppose whoever made the chart needs some education. Wind will never make the temperature feel warmer, even if you're on a motorcycle.

The chart also assume the only 'wind' is coming from the speed of the bike.

Another fun 'wind chill' fact...if the actual temp is above freezing, no amount of wind will make your pipes freeze.

False. I lived in Vegas for 8 years and was too cheap to run the A/C.

Had a fan on the dash in a non-A/C car of mine, and it felt worse with it on when it was hot.
No A/C meant you were pushing the air heated by the engine into your cabin. The engine temp was much greater than 100 or even 115.

When I moved to Vegas, my little 200SX was so loaded down (thanks mom) that from about SLC to Vegas, I couldn't run the A/C. In fact, I had to run the heater to help cool the engine. Windows down, engine heat pushing into the cabin. Miserable drive. (Except the stretch through the Virgin River Gorge).

Seems to me, it's all about body temp. If it's hotter than your body, I would think the wind would be adding heat to your body, just like if it's cold, the wind will carry the heat of your body away faster.

The heat would add heat to your body. The wind helps your body dissipate heat. Part of the reason we sweat is our body's evaporative cooling. It is most difficult on a still, humid day as the sweat cannot evaporate well. Wind is essentially the movement of air from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure. That wind also reduces humidity. Less humidity allows your body to cool itself by evaporating the sweat.

That is why at higher temps, they talk about heat index, which is more about the humidity. It's very difficult to have high humidity and high winds...usually only happens in a violent storm and in that case, the temps wouldn't remain high. Between rain being cooler, you get heat transfer, plus the clouds filters more solar energy from getting to the ground warming the air.

The planet is really a very interesting, self-regulating system.

That's the thing about "wind chill" ... It's the wind causing the moisture in your skin to evaporate which "cools it" ... Can't happen on a normal engine block for example. (Or sitting in a closed up car)

When I lived in SE Arizona evaporative coolers (swamp coolers) were widely used, simply a fan blowing arid air over a screen drizzled with water that looked kinda like a furnace filter, the evaporation had a cooling effect on the air blown through the HVAC system, they also had "misters" that people would use on a covered deck or barn, they sprayed out a very fine mist of water, as it evaporated it cooled the immediate area ...

I bought a small, portable table saw. I had a nice Sears contractor table saw for 40+ years. I hardly used it in the past 15 years, so I loaned it to my daughter and son in-law. Of course, I then had several projects that needed a table saw! 🙃
