Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 14C and it's presently just 17.5C, lightly overcast with the odd burst of wind. There was a surprising 0.5mm in the gauge @ 0900.

It's been very dry for this month up to now, which has been great for getting the hay baled and in. The 'Mad Agisting Horse Woman' + Daughter bought quite a few square bales, which they put into my shed last evening.

Yesterday, 42 hampers were assembled + a further 15 arrived from the local "Neighbourhood House" (a local community organisation), all for distribution.

I made an 'executive decision' that I can't properly 'do' the Church doors myself. They need to to come off the hinges, etc... Short story is that the local "Men's Shed" (community DIY workshop) put me onto a specialty wood business who will be able to handle the job properly come the New Year. I love a small town where 'someone knows someone who knows' to get a result. I then loaded up the ute for a quick trip to the tip to Pre-Christmas dump my wheelie bin + recyclables.

Today I'll need to attend the PO for a delivery (not the Wine Faeries, this time), then it looks like around the house/DW needs a mowing.

That's about it, take care all.

Good Tractor Morning,
Phil, beautiful work once again, I am curious how you go about hollowing out the inside of spherical vessels that you cant see into that well, and how you manage not to break through the sides while your doing that ?
You have to guess while you work. I have a special hooked tool made for hollowing.
Still not easy. You only see the good ones. Lots end up in the burn box

No per capita tax here either.

I got lied to. The front road to the dump was closed and I had to take the back goat trail.:(

I did Christmas in Miami once, I prefer it in the north.

Just finished watching Full Metal Jacket for the umpteenth time.

Besides the vet, what is killing the Alpacas? They should live 20+ years.

Drinking hot coffee. 30° with with light snow this morning. Heading to 9° with winds over 30mph. Got neighbors toilet installed. Like most projects it took longer than planned. Very fancy. Even has auto flush. Looks like today is going to be a conserve energy day.

Good Morning!

41F and calm here in central Texas this morning! Should warm up and clear off after sunrise.

So after the reception yesterday I got home and cooked a small ribeye and cleaned up then set down to do the Christmas cards. I got so sleepy that I moved over to a recliner and dozed off for several hours. Woke up and listened to music to try to get back sleepy. Never could so I guess I'm up for a while. I'm always frustrated this time of year because everything seems to go into slow motion. It can be hard on a 24/7 type when everyone else is 'on vacation'.

I hope everyone has a great day today and your weekend is also very enjoyable.

Prayers for our Nation!

good morning all
it's pouring out and that's quite a weather system on national radar, a big front heading East,
surprisingly warm out now, in 50's but going well below freezing tonight.
That means a ton of black ice tomorrow morning
.22 rain so far, lot more coming

if this was snow,whoooeeeee.

had a fun time having friend over for dinner last night, went well, now I have
to pick up house and get ready for brother and wife coming over this afternoon for
warm cider and Stoli. Not mixed...

not sure if this will work but I invited the lady Chief of Police here to join us for cider.
I'm hoping to gag my brother by having her pull in driveway with lights and siren on.
Already warned old lady across street so she wouldn't have a heart attack, she thought
it would be great. My brother and Chief are good friends and I have one of very few
Solebury Police Foundation stickers on back of my car. That is local "good citizen" badge.
Have to donate to Chief's fund, which will allow her to go off budget on a few things.
Currently they are saving up for a powerful search drone needed to find senior citizens with dementia
going on a walk about. They walk off into woods and hard to find, apparently has happened twice now in a few
years locally.

going to rain all day, yard will be a swamp

really should make a trip downtown for a few more munchies but not thrilled with going out in today's mess.
I think I have enough left over sushi.
And hopefully to make it fun for the Chief, no I was not going to offer her a donut.
But I did get some nice pigs in a blanket... ;)

Good morning TBN!!
42 this morning. Should be warming and near 60 today but windy. Got almost 2" of rain
yesterday and overnight.

I did absolutely nothing yesterday. Didn't even go outside. Rare day for me
No agenda today but it will be something.

Time for a second cup
Everybody have a great and safe day!!

Good morning, the low is 32 and going to a high of 34°F. Wind SW 13 gusting to 19 mph. Snow.
By the time it is all over on Sunday we could see as much as a foot. Maybe more. 'Bought time.
Right now it is snowing but melting as soon as it hits the ground.

Today will be to watch the pretty snowflakes fall. I think, I may be mistaken, but I think we will be having a white Christmas this year.

Have a safe day all

60 and soon to start dropping when the front gets here within the hour...about 1/3 inch of rain so far. Lots of stars when I took Della out but now cloudy again.

Prayers, Thomas.

BEF, my sister used to make those cookies...we'd make a meal out of them when we lived together right after college.

Took my wife to the doctor yesterday, then made a day of it...Tex-Mex, REI, Trader Joe's, Wegmans. Crowds, but smooth and friendly. Gas dropped again...$2.35.

Warming and rainy here, which I'd normally hate, but I'm thankful for it this time.

We adopted a rescue dog 2-3 months ago, a gentle little sweetheart who was abused and kept in a rabbit hutch while being over-bread by the Amish... they're known for that. Among her many problems is that she's never been let outdoors to go to the bathroom. When I say "kept in a rabbit hutch", the people who rescued her tell me she had never been let out of it for anything other than breeding... ever.

So we spent the first week or two just teaching her that the grass was the place to do her business, rather than our floors, and that was finally going pretty well. But this recent snow really threw her for a loop, as despite being old enough to have lived thru many snow storms, I don't think she's actually ever been outside in snow. So this week's first big snow of the year was a big set-back in her bathroom routine.

Long-winded way of saying, I'm glad this rainy warm front blowing thru today is finally melting off most of our snow! This dog has been a tough one, but she's such a sweetheart that she makes it all worth it... I think. :ROFLMAO:

59 outside this AM, crazy warm. Winds picked up overnight as a new front came through. Temps will be dropping through the day. Supposed to be nasty wet and cold starting tonight.

Busy day yesterday, nothing fun oriented, just rescues and set backs.

Hope all have a great day, and a good start to the weekend. Be safe.

good morning, 52 going to 57 much warmer. Rained overnight. Wind advisory

wife spent time on the phone with veteran son. He is doing well but wants to get off meds. Not a good idea based on past experiences

We like a white Christmas but may not happen this year. Remember moving from snowed-in Montreal to Southern California in the 60's during Christmas.. Christmas decorations in sunny Cali was very different

Good morning tbn folks. Had a BIG blow here overnight and some modest snow fell here in Houghton MI. Its 13 now with a N wind at 16 gusting to 28 mph. Was warm all day yesterday with with some drizzle which knocked the snow down and makes a mess. All the lake boats went to safe harbors because of a 20ft wave potential. I got lots done yesterday and paid some $$ for that atv and the dealership would order necessarily parts for it. We might head to camp later today, if dearest gets off of work in a timely fashion. Historical photo seen below.

.65 rain and it's coming down
Lake Drew covering half of back yard
will get a pic of that later
all this rain, plus all the snow melt.

speaking of snow melt, all my life I've been visiting my friend's cabin in Arkville NY, and you get there off the NYThruway
by taking route 28 West. And along that route is the Esopus River and it keeps on going through many small towns,
winding like crazy. And when it has rained heavily several times in last 50 years when it melted the snow too,
totally overwhelmed the watershed and the towns all flooded. The same supermarket was washed down the river twice.
That's a lot of of cans of beans into the NYC water supply; they take purity of water up there very seriously.
Not sure if they built any dams or protection in all these years.

standing water now up to area of the septic field.
sure hope that doesn't back up...
all my willow shrubs are underwater
but they love it

bet my sump pump is running like mad

they found the guy who shot up the Brown engineering building, apparently he then went to MIT and killed a
professor there two days later, and then committed suicide.
not a top moment for law enforcement
