Annoying Issue When Typing - Cursor Disappearing

This is the only website this happens on so I feel like it is something TBN specific. When I am typing my cursor just disappears. I will be typing along looking at my keyboard obviously, because I have never learned to type without looking. I look up from the keyboard and the last 3 words I wrote are not there because the cursor disappeared. Does this happen to anyone else? It is pretty annoying. It is somewhat intermittent. For instance, it did not happen while typing this whole post.

I have that happen too but it's not only this site. Only happens occasionally and I've been unable to figure out why.

As I recall, it was something to do with auto-save feature as you type getting hung up. It's been a few years since I recall dealing with the same thing.

Every time an advert gets displayed the cursor disappears. I'm thinking the adverts are designed to take precedence ( display over all other items ) and is the reason the cursor disappears because the advertiser wants you to click their ad. This is intentional formatting by TBN management.

Not something I suspect that the TBN folks can do much about. I too have seen it, only on this site. It does appear to be add related. I think its the engine/add ons/platform the site runs on. I'm not a programmer/web master, I have built several sites in my day.

While useful its not perfect. It's the price we pay to play...

We really aren't trying to make anything annoying for you. We're trying to keep the site running for everyone. And yeah, there are a bunch of little things that just aren't things we can solve because behaviors like that are controlled by your browser. I've not had my cursor disappear, but I also don't post nearly as much as any of you. I've had ads change/pop up when I'm typing and didn't notice any loss of focus on the typing box. I'm not saying it's not happening to you, but there are a LOT of reasons it can be happening, and it might even be an ad (we sometimes get ads doing stuff we don't like and have to go exclude them once we notice.)

Now, if we can see a bug and reproduce it, that's much easier to track down and try to fix. And we've been pretty good at keeping the serious bugs at bay.

I believe TBN management/ staff is not trying to be annoying however control of objects is part of web site management's responsibility to keep a semblance of control and usability as objects ( displayed content) play differently with Firefox, Chrome, etc browsers whether they are on iPads, notebooks, or mobile phones. I am sure you don't give advertisers free reign on what they post or where these posts display on the site in general or within individual pages.

Sometimes it takes a few moments for what I'm typing to echo back to the screen. I'm guessing this is due to the website having to receive and echo the characters back to my computer. If the site or part of the communications link to it are slow, that can cause the disappearance of the cursor temporarily.

I've seen it. If you got lost somehow just type a few X's or whatever and you were lost but now are found!

I don't know if my curser ever disappeared, but it has moved onto another line, and my typing appears there. Pretty tough on this two finger hunt and peck person. AND, sometimes words are misspelled...

My android tablet makes virtual keyboard disappear every 3 or 4 letters, might be user error....but still I hate using it. Only have it for one thing that needed an app with a set of features on the device..... I could not emulate on a pc

Well I guess its going to get fixed now that an important person has experienced it. Before it was just a hallucination from the gallery.

I run firefox on a MAC and cursor loss frequently occurrs when advert pops up at screen bottom or sometimes over top of the text being typed.
