December 2, 2025 — Gold Standard 14-Day Snowfall Totals
Over the past two weeks, it has been quite snowy across the great state of Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Lake-effect belts and high-terrain zones have delivered some impressive totals:
• Western U.P. (Ironwood region): 20 to 40 inches
• Houghton / Copper Country: 20 to 30 inches
• U.P. North Shore / Lake Superior Highlands: 20 to 30 inches
• Sault Ste. Marie: Nearly 20 inches
• Gaylord / Tip of the Mitt: Close to 30 inches
• Southwest & Western Lower Michigan: 10 to 20 inches
• Saginaw Valley: 4 to 8 inches
• Detroit Metro: 3 to 6 inches

Not sure, nobody keeps track here. My guess is around 35 inches.

Did get out on Boundary Rod trails tonight.

Satellite imagery from this morning (12/4) showing widespread snow cover and lake effect cloud streamers definitively states that winter has arrived in the Great Lakes!

Almost 24 inches near Twin Lakes around 11am and its still coming down.
