How do I get this boulder out of this hole?

OP looking at the size of digger and the numbers people have staed for the rock weight, bite the bullet and get a contractor to have a look and quote on the job.

Before I'd trust ai ... I'd get a tape measure ... Yes, granite is heavy ... You being from New Hampshire may remember when the old man in the mountain lost his face?

I do, I was working out of Lebanon then ...

Even if you split it in half, that will still be a good sized rock for your yard, plus you'll have a "spare"!

What kind of A frame would you need for a 20 ton rock?
lol yeah thats a good question ... if it was me I would go get two Tamarack trees or electrical pole at 10'' to 12'' in diameter and I would simply give it a try the weight will be in compression and wood it pretty tough in that regards.

What fun is that? Everything else you see in that picture was done by me. Not gonna let some little boulder get in my way.

This rock is 10x heavier. Gotta get a huge machine or a lot of pulleys and a deadman anchor. If i use my 60hp tractor I'm gonna need to anchor that to something too or it will get dragged.
Actually 100 times heavier, but who's counting. My point was that even with a lighter puller once the rock is moving inertia will tend to keep it moving. No matter how you getthe rock out I encourage you to get it out in one piece

Might be a possibility if the estimated weight wasn't between 40-50K pounds. It won't budge with a 15K excavator. Started exploring using a deadman anchor and about 5 snatch blocks to create a 5:1 system
How about a few pictures with an actual tape measure across in different orientations.

Without more reference than a track tread having a hard time believing AI estimates.

This is obviously smaller but I pushed it onto the 10K trailer with the 55 HP Rhino, transported and then carried it with the Ford 550 with it's 80 inch bucket. Grapple is fully open at 49"
