Least favourite implements to attach

/ Least favourite implements to attach #11
Cannot say any of my implements are that much of a pain to hook up, especially since I added the "Pats" to the tractor. My biggest issue is that with the limited space I have to store the implements out of the weather the one I need somehow always ends up being in the back. So I end up having to connect and disconnect several implements to get what I want... Some days I get LOTS of practice.:ROFLMAO::LOL:

Before I added the "Pats" the most aggravating implements were the flails.

My boom arm mower is the worst;

My absolute least favorite is the 3 point drag harrow. It has 3 heavy parts. A large, heavy frame, a 7’x7’ mishmash of thick curved spring steel torture devices and hooks to mangle the thing all together.

I have to fully disassemble the nightmare to store it as the footprint is too large to store indoors otherwise.

It takes nearly an hour of twisting and turning to get it assembled, i dread it every year.

Im thinking of building a lean too building just to house it so i dont have to go thru this yearly.

But it does a great job knocking down manure piles in pasture from the horses and breaking thru snowpack damage to ground.

With my CUT's, everything comes off easy.
Putting everything on gives me a bruised forearm because of the close quarters.

My least favorite is the Shaver post driver, one day I am going to hang it from a chain to make it easier to manipulate onto the pins. If I had a level pad to set it on that would also fit my rear wheels on when I back up to the driver that would make it sooo much easier but I do not see that happenening for a long time. I did not attach it once this year for this reason. The post driver is way worse than the sickle more, I don't mind the sickle mower at all actually.

Of all the implements I attach to my tractor, this one is absolutely my least favourite! Getting in there to attach PTO shaft and adjust the top-link is not easy, with the limited space and projecting "things" - like top-link sliding tommy bar, mounting plate for the spray valves, windscreen-washer bottle mounting plate, and of course the PTO guard where the shaft emerges from the tractor makes for some contortionist skills in getting it hooked up.

In comparison, the box blade is a doddle, also chipper and slasher, and the air-blast sprayer's not too bad either. I'm guessing the spray tank manufacturers elected to keep the heavy unit (600 litre capacity) as far forward as possible for weight reasons, also to keep the 6 metre spray boom from being too far back behind the tractor.

That said, it's a nicely made spray unit, and the saving grace is that I don't need to use it very often.

The handle in the foreground belongs to the pallet jack, as all my implements are stored in the shed on the concrete floor, and having them all on pallets is so handy.

I like the Euro style 3 pt arms. I wish that we had them in the States.

When I bought the Kioti, all my implements had the Euro style balls, so I modified the OEM 3PL lower ends, by removing the originals (top of pic), buying a pair of CBM hooks and welding them onto stock bar. They're secured in fixed position with that big pin through a hole in the bar, and not bothering with the slot (which would have been a PITA to do).

Two caveats - ensure the welds are V'eed adequately, and duplicate the angles of the original ends.

Least favorite implements to attach ? ALL OF MINE ! Nothing ever lines up easily ! Guess if I had to choose, I'd say the box blade. It's a Cat 1 and my Tractor JD2355 is Cat1 / 2. Very difficult to get the 3-pt lowers lined up !

With a quick hitch and a hydraulic top link my rear implements are relatively easy. I've modified all of my 3ph implements to be quick hitch compatible.

The pain is the front mount snow blower. All the pto connections are in tight places and require finger strength that is getting reduced as I grow older. Installing everything when it's cold outside doesn't help either.

Seems to me that designing a pto collar pliars is a future project.
