Matt Walsh is a moron. You can't wish away the boogie man. AI is coming, and if we aren't at the forefront of this technology, you can bet for sure our adversaries are.

Hey Matt Walsh, great plan... let's stop our AI development, let China take the lead, and we'll see how your kids do in that environment!

We've gone from several generations ahead of all adversaries in the post-cold war years, to now just one scant generation ahead of China in much of our military technology. They will catch up, but we don't need to pause and just hand it to them.

So, couple nights ago, my sister texts me out of the blue about a carbon program that pays you to plant Loblolly pines. Asks what I know. Nothing. Google, and Chat, as well as a thread on here; and in 30 minutes I have a low level understanding of a program that I never heard of.

Now, points from that, I went from zero to low level; not from zero to expert. Also not from intermediate to expert.

You dont always need or want an expert or even journeyman level of knowledge on Every topic. Sometimes you just need the cliff-notes. This is where the current systems excell.

The weakness is honestly more a human trait more than AI, of people getting a low level understanding, and thinking they have an expert understanding. Thats not AI's fault.

True that...I have tested it on subjects I'm proficient in and found errors.
Once I asked it to show me where socialism has worked. It showed me a state in India on an unsustainable financial course, and swore it was working. Average annual income was $13-15k for a family of 4. Most families shared 1-2 small motorcycles for transportation.

Exactly. And this is why I’m happy to see my son’s high school is not burying their heads in the sand, but rather teaching students to use AI in this way, as a resource to help them in their work, rather than doing their work for them.

The reality is that the early part of any major world power conflict is going to consist of attacking each-others communication systems. A blind opponent is a crippled opponent. The ability to execute or respond to multi-faceted attacks at high speed is going to rely entirely on AI.

I asked AI if it foresees AI taking over mankind in the future... or something like that. and AI replied no, AI is a tool that should be used to enhance what mankind can do and not a replacement intelligence.
