Long peeve and questions so read accordingly recently bought a GMC 1/2'ton sle crew cab paid more for it than my 3/4 ton 10 yrs ago. Understand inflation etc. However the 10 speed automatic blew a transmission line driving down the freeway didn't notice a spike in transmission temp on display, did notice a bit of smoke coming from the rear of the truck, stubbornly figured it was it's first regen on the 3.0 pulled into a wayside cuz my youngest had to use the facilities. Cab filled up with transmission fluid smoke. Underneath looked like the exon valdez grounded there. Called gm roadside assistance they don't haul trailers, I was towing a small single axle maybe weighed 2k total 50 miles from my home. So called a friend gave me a ride home picked up my wife's kia drove back picked up and hauled trailer home. In the process had to disconnect trailer and move truck by then I could feel the transmission was slipping already. Anyways Finally got it towed to the Dealership we bought if from a week ago has informed us they would not replace transmission with a new OEM one rather a remanufactured one. Both wife and I are livid considering the truck has 700 miles on it. Wondering what's our options if any here. Wife already made it clear we would not accept a remanufactured transmission on a brand new truck. Especially considering the tech disclosed openly it was gms fault for improperly installing a transmission line. So I'm peeving at the dealership and GM. Anyone know what I need to do to get a brand new transmission? Dealership is apparently lying to us saying they can't get a brand new transmission from gm. Is this true? Funny thing is if that truck had a transmission dip stick I probably would have added a couple quarts of atf to move it 30 feet to get my trailer off that gm roadside refused to tow. Nor would they give me a time when the truck would get picked up. So I went there on my own to get trailer subsequently had to move that truck 30 ft. I guess if your paying a lot of money for a brand new vehicle and the transmission fails at 700 miles shouldn't they be obligated to replace a new truck with a brand new transmission that failed due to manufacture defect or I'm I missing something here?.
