35 going to 65 and clear. First day of muzzleloader, so will head out soon, just to be out there.

Don, no Trick or treaters here since our kids got too old for their friends to come by...out here parents have to drive their children from house to house, usually going to folks they know.

Ron, congrats on a lot of plumbing fixes with no leaks...good feeling.

Thomas, the problem with Wooly bear forecasting is I'm seeing so many different colored ones...including all black and all brown.

Yesterday was a dump run, hike and swim day...leaves really blowing.

❄️ Good morning tbn from camp! We are making coffee now (we're very serious about that) and its near freezing out with a nice snow coming down. I'll get a picture but we can't post until home but there was a chance of that. This is the first we've seen this year. Hope everyone has a nice Saturday.

my late wife used to love Halloween. The house would get decorated and all the neighbors would have a barbecue/small bonfire
on our front lawn and street while the neighborhood kids would go trick or treating.
In other words the parents were standing guard on the street.

reminds me I have to decide how to decorate for Christmas this year.
need to test the inflatables and see if they still work. The 12 foot inflatable Santa tied to the front tree has now been out there two times.
maybe i need to see what this year's special is.

Arly have fun in the snow and stay warm.
our time will come for sure

Good Tractor Morning,
blood pressure medications that target ACE (angiotensin Converting Enzyme) have the dry cough as a side effect, but different individuals have it better/worse than others. I don't know why that is.
I used to use Lisinopril, had to stop, dry cough was very annoying 😉
I switched to Losartin Potassium, no cough and much better. That’s the only prescription that I take. I do take Glucosamine Chondroitin , no script necessary.
How many people on the morning thread get trick or treaters and how many?
Not too many , but we left the lights on and walked across the street to our neighbors, when we came home both huge bowls that were totally full of candy were empty 😳 Just as well, I don’t need it anyway 😉😃

Good Tractor Morning,
Ct, 40 to start going to 52 maybe. The wind was unbelievable yesterday, took one leg of one of my wire dipole antennas down but it was an easy fix.

Kids had a great time trick or treating last night. My youngest son hooked up his 12 ft trailer with hay bales and pulled the whole thing with his Polaris Ranger. He ran light stings all over it and pulled all the kids through our neighborhood.

Today I will be going to our radio club to listen to a couple that trekked to Antarctica with their radio equipment. They will be giving a presentation of their trip. Also they will be giving all members a QSL card from that trip. I’m going over early and getting together with our Club VP. He will be helping me setup my laptop and Yaesu FT891 to operate FT 8. Also hopefully set up for WinLink so as an amateur operator, offer my services in the event of a natural disaster.

Looks to be a nice fall day with a lot less wind 🙏 We get the grandkids later this morning and have them overnight until tomorrow afternoon.
We will probably take them for a cruise around the area tonight to show them all the scary lawn displays.

Hope all have a blessed and safe day 🙏

Good morning, the low is 33 and going up to 43°F. Wind NW 4 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

The only jobs I need to get done before the snow sticks is to set up the remote for the block heater on the Dodge. I'll do that on Tuesday. It'll be warmer then.

Lit the wood furnace for the first time this season. Drove some of the dampness out.

I don't think I will do much today. Just don't feel like it.

Have a safe day all

39 outside this AM, heading to lower 60's today. A nice weekend shaping up.

Surgery went really well, unfortune a few pre-op inspections revealed some more issues that were all taken care of yesterday. With the abdominal area repairs, upper and gasp...lower (3) lowers, I am on recovery and limited duty for a few months now. I got quite the cocktail of pain meds, but I am a grumpy old guy and just don't take anything more than motrin. So I am catching grief. I can breath, barely, really cannot find a comfy spot, sitting, standing, laying or walking. Just great, eh? The pain down my right leg seems to have abated. Now it's ALL around the belly. Cannot laugh, cough or sneeze. Small breaths in, out. Wonderful.

The interesting thing was of course, insurance. The whole thingy about payments has really changed. They were presenting info to get paid up front, first. I declined that twice. Once online, once in the office. I appreciate all the pre-estimates and whatnot, but I am the type that pays up AFTER a service is performed. The we can adjust the bill accordingly due to other claims in progress, just does not sit well with me.

The mystery in all of this...no idea how this happened. Doc's are saying the right movement with heavy objects, compounded with more lifting, just tore a lot of muscles. I had thought it was my back, I mean who among us does not complain about their back?

I'll be in catchup mode again. I have some research to do on Medicare as I think my time is near for using that as primary. I saw you all were discussing it, so I'd like to do more reads on that. I am hopeful I can get my younger than I wife on Cobra of some sort until she too can take advantage of Medicare.

I looked at her tractor this AM and am just itching to go do something. Alas, bumping around in the cab probably will not be fun. I could do some simple trail maintenance. Just need to get outside.

Hope all have a great weekend. Be safe.

Feel better soon Riptides, hope you have a complete recovery

delivered apples and pears to a number of folks including the gas station owner, who was out
pumping his own gas on a Sat morning.
then home to change clothes and chase leaves.
plenty to chase
too bad one can't whistle and have them all pile up...

@riptides Hope that you feel better soon! That sounds like an awful lot of damage for an unknown event, but I certainly have lots of things that went sideways that I couldn't point to "the" event either.

Crudy air quality again yesterday, even just driving in it for twenty minutes was too much for me, even with a cabin air filter. I'm not sure what will be possible today. Lots on the list, including putting a new door on to the RV.

Thinking back, the last place I lived that had trick or treaters was when I was in high school. Since then some urban, some suburban, some rural, but no trick or treaters. One suburban apartment would have been prime, except our place was in the back of the property, with a well hidden entrance. Good thing we never needed to call 911.

All the best,

Peter

....no trick or treaters here. But the wife and kids all stocked up on candy. LOL. They are using it as an excuse for me to get better.

I would have settled for beer, chips, peanuts and a bottle of Drambuie. LOL.

I have six bags of various chocolates next to me now, and a few others over on another counter.

Enjoy the TLC. It helps with the recovery. Seriously.

(But so do the pain killers because they get you moving sooner; less scar tissue to inhibit movement or be painful later.)

All the best, Peter

Morning all, 48 to 59 and partly cloudy, wind has calmed.
Between the wind and the rain, most of the leaves are down, and mostly on the shared road

Bought a 1/2peck of apples and some firewood to friends house last night to hang out. Not anywhere near the number of trick or treaters as normal.

Did finish checking fuses in the Jeep, all ok, got a new tool box at HF and moved a lot of the loose tools in the tractor garage over. Got gas in the audi and picked up chinese food.
Trimmed the crape myrtle that was smashing against the side of the house.

Our two trick or treaters were here a few days ago, neighbors kids.

Went to Solebury at 9:30 am yesterday, empty.

Heal quick Riptides, hope it doesn't take too long.

Took apart small projector to see if I could fix it, power supply and electronics not working, oh well.

Be well,

View yesterday over neighbors fields

Lots of stuff in a small space, LED "bulb" left, lots of lens with an LED filter panel in the path to create the picture. No voltage to LED, so something in power supply, which also has all the control electronics on the back (to the right).

on a trick r treat a few years past in NC
I risked throwing out by back by dressing up as a cow
for my neighbor's young son. Scared him and he backed right up, took a while to
get him to come closer, his parents telling him it was alright, nice cow, etc.
