Heat

It’s most definitely a thing and friends have succumbed…

My last friend was told it might have been in check by a robust immune system but has his years advanced his immune system no
Longer robust…

Work colleague at one of our Data Centers in Phoenix got it...debilitating for him. He didn't pass, but he never returned to work.

My wife works as a nurse in the Sacramento Valley area and sees a lot of patients who have some sort of valley fever. Way too many. Cabs are good if you're doing even slightly dusty dirt work, and check your filters. I wear a mask (no cab) when I mow dry or use the tiller.

I feel for you guys that have to live in a sauna. Right now in the Mojave it’s 98 degrees with 27 dew point and 7% humidity. Quite comfortable.

Was 98 here in middle Tn, dew point 79F. Take your breath going outside

Here in East Texas, the humidity is brutal. One summer I went to Sturgis in July and I was really enjoying how cool it was there. Then I saw an outdoor thermometer that said it was 101 degrees. That's when I realized how much humidity matters!!!!!!

Finally, some cooler weather is on the way here. We're expecting overnight lows in the high 50's in a few days.

Still hot on Sept 12, 2025. But dew points are down just a little so it's not as bad as a few weeks ago.

First fall storm of the season came through this past week. Temperatures dropped from mid-80s down to mid 50s and 60s the past couple days. It felt wonderful! But only a trace of precipitation with the storm. I took advantage of the colder temperatures and cloudy days to mow some weeds with the Kubota. Don't have to run a/c when there is no sun and temps are 50s and 60s!

Summer is still here. Dewpoint around 79* and heat index of 102* on October 7, 2025. And we are really dry here. Yesterday some area about 60 miles east of me got 6" of rain. But nothing here at my shop.

Brutal!!! It has been ok here for the most part. Not quite cool but not oppressively hot either. Nights been cooling off well, that is half the battle. Finally supposed to get a pretty significant temperature drop next week. I am ready for fall, seems like it comes later and later every year.

It finally cooled off here. 62 now with a little rain.

I'm just ready to turn off the A/C for a tiny break on my Elec bill.
So far ran the 1993 Carrier 3 days this year… summer has been very mild in Oakland… no complaints so far… October can surprise…

It's been in the 80s for the last few days but that'll change tonight. There is a front coming through with some much needed rain and we may finally get frost by the end of the week.

It's been cool enough here that I have had the A/C in the shop shut off for the last month. That is a win in my book!

We've already had several frosts here, tomorrow night they're predicting low 20s/upper teens. Agree on the rain, our well is very low.
