good morning, 60 going to 80

worked on learning how to send large files attached to email. Used iPhone feature to scan and save, used iMac to load the dropbox app and download files to convert to a send format and sent a test email. Hope it works

D's blood test was a match for the bone marrow donation however the recipient was no longer stable and not able to receive it. She is returning to the National Registry

Also use the Flexeel polyurethane air hose. Have several others including ceiling mounted reel with rubber hoses but don't use them any more after getting the Flexeel hose. The larger air hose with Chicago fittings is also just hanging there on the wall

Good Morning,
Vt, 52 to start going to 76 or so. It will be an easier paced day than the last 4 😉.

Finally finished the deck after 4 days of hard work and Kathleen rewarded me by taking us out to a nice dinner last night 🙏

Some easier stuff planned for today, put all my tools away and clean up the barn floor where the Trex decking has been laying forever. Maybe a quick mow job around the house and a nice ride out on the lake with the pontoon boat. Other than that not much planned. 😃

Hope all have a good start to their week 🙏

58 outside right now, fog rolling in, heading to lower 80's. May get some rain tonight, or tomorrow.

Ending up splitting wood and moving it around yesterday. Lost count over 300 splits. That equated to 3 RTV loads. I still have over 80 rounds left, with some monster size. I have topped off the shed and may have to tarp cover the rest if I split it at all.

No plans for today, just real job and maybe a dump run.

Deck came out good. @scott_vt

I get cold just looking at that rig. @ArlyA Hope the potential purchase works out.

Hope all have a great start to the week. Be safe.

nice job Scott, sure looks pretty there

foot of snow in that picture makes one think about this winter
I'm told the East is going to get more snow.
time for Buppies annual forecast

I have a problem with noise at the moment.
one good, one bad.
The bad is the barking dogs at my neighbors, the problem one, that go nuts every time the kids go
out to wait for the bus. They want to play and they sure want to bark. Nice dog just needs some training and not
going to get it.

The good is someone nearby has a new rooster.
sometimes roosters can be too much though, that noise of theirs is supposed to be
proclaiming its territory, but yeah buddy, I got it, you told me thirty times, you can stop squawking now... :giggle:
otherwise I think that's a wonderful sound
Mother Nature's alarm clock.

Good morning, the low is 48 and going to 70°F. Wind ENE 9 mph. Sunny!

I'm going to town later today for a couple of items.

I think the rest of the day will be conserve energy seeing as the tarp didn't show up. At least I can bark at Amazon and they wont tell me untruths.

Drew, thanks for the bike tips. :)

Drew, when you get really tired of roosters and their squawking they will fit in the stew pot.

Have a safe day all

A snow post for the UP of MI where we reside. I couldn't find a nice map showing just lake superior. :( We moved here to see consistent snow over the winter for snow sports, while having moderate temps. Houghton is on the large peninsula at the bottom and centerish of lake Superior. The lake is a heat sink and warms the cool winter air pretty much all winter. We rarely cool to zero but see snow most days all winter.

Good morning! 69˚F heading to 90˚ with clear skies.

Went to the fall orientation at the adventure farm and start hauling people next week. I was the oldest person re-hired and one of the few without a nose ring or tattoos.
The tractor route will be changed after the flood. It is going from a loop to an out and back route. As the owner said instead of a people mover to and from the back of the farm it will be an activity ride. The 4 wheel trailer really cuts corners so I'll have to really have a large un-obstructed turn around. I will be the first to try out the new route when the Fall Festival starts.

The Christmas trees are looking really good after the field was flooded with 4 feet of water. The tire mountain with the slides washed away but they recovered the tires and will rebuild it. They will still be rebuilding new metal fences during the Fall festival.

We have the same issue with "new" neighbors. Their dogs howl at times for like five minutes. Like a pack of wolves. Can be early morning, like 5 to 6AM, late night 11 -12AM. Various times during the day too. When the kids next to them go out to play, they are literally up on the fence lines barking. For as long as they see movement. Any movement, they are up along the fence lines in bark mode.

Went and talked with them a few times, as did other neighbors. No changes to behavior or situation.

This is the same neighbor that anothers tree fell over onto his property. Big tree. We asked if he wanted help moving/cutting moving it, it's huge....he said he has a coupon for a chain saw.
I kept my mouth shut, the other neighbor said "maybe you need to call someone". It's been months and it is still laying across his "yard". I see the root ball from my back property.

I got the impression this is their first "country" house. LOL.

LOL. Dogs are barking now....lol.

Morning all, 62 to 82 and sunny.
Did some watering, then tried to start my sons Jeep and it was dead.
I left a charger on there overnight, might be time for a new battery, probably original to 2011.
Dinner was fine. Before we left we gave the dog a bath, hot weather and thick fur...

The new neighbor uphill has a rooster and a few doors down has a rooster. We barely hear them unless outside. Neighbors dogs bark a lot, but they do take them in at night and rarely too early on weekends. Our dog rarely barks.
Biggest noise here is our neighbor going back/forth in a helicopter, but they don't buzz our house anymore and the hours are reasonable. Usually once every week or so.

Be well,

Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! Currently 71° going to 83° sunny and clear, some rain forecasted for later this week on Thursday, but should be clear skies for my trip Friday.

Sister, Brother in law, Nephew breezed in on Friday and pulled out on Saturday, heading for the shore. They broke the trip up into three days, one out to our place from Pittsburg, then south to just around Richmond before finally arriving at the shore on Sunday. Made it easy on all parties involved, as Mom and Dad followed them down on Sunday with the dogs (Their dog and Parents dog as well) They'll be getting back as I'll be touching down in the province in PH God willing. So for right now it's just me holding down the fort. Grass is bone dry, no point in mowing.

To do remains packing my carry-on, I have several books to keep me entertained and I'm told the movie selection is very good on the flights, so that won't be much of a problem. Only long layover is in Chicago, so I'll find a bar or someplace to camp out. Also need to finish emptying out my truck so it looks as unappealing to opportunists as possible in long term parking.(No tools left behind, nothing they can peek in the windows and think hmm this is worth a rock and 15 minutes)

On the work front, in about another 20 minutes or so we shove off to another store to go over an internet DMARC placement, then either tomorrow or Wednesday out west to another store, a 6 hour round trip. They're really making me earn this vacation!

Campground owning friend proposed to girlfriend over the weekend at a getaway with her, and she said yes. So I guess I'll have to dust the monkey suit off here at some point.
A real shame to read about the young kid being killed two weeks into college, truly a nightmare scenario for the parents. Prayers for them.

Thanks all for the well-wishes on my travels!
Y'all stay safe out there and be well! Enjoy the cooler temps!
Prayers for all ailing and recovering!

Good Morning
70° now, won’t get to 80, sunny, another beautiful day.
Might be a good day to pull the Progressive mower around to the shop and give it a good going over, grease all the u joints, casters and spindles , check the oil in the gearboxes and air pressure in the tires.

Not much else planned, a buddy might come by with a dump truck this afternoon. If he does, I’ll be loading manure and hauling it to the pumpkin farm.

I am honing in on the plan for the ERV installation, then I’ll have to collect the materials I’ll need to execute the plan.

Got a rusty iron floor drain cover in the garage, I should probably attack that with a needle scaler, maybe make a drawing and cut a new one out on the plasma cutter.

Supposed to meet a friend for lunch, and an oddfellows meeting tonight.
I guess that will fill the day up pretty well after all..

Scott, nice job on the deck. Sorry I wasn’t available to help.

80° and dry. Will be an indoor day.

Slept in today.

Trees turning at the farm. All the equipment is gone. They moved the 2 port a pots to behind the barn. Need rain for grass to grow now.

I was the oldest person re-hired and one of the few without a nose ring or tattoos.

Well Don I know your lovely wife was telling me that she really wished you'd get a nose ring
perhaps to pull you around?... ;)

fashion is surely in the eye of the beholder
if you want thirteen holes in your ear have at it.
I think lip plates might be taking it too far...
unless one of course was indigenous Mursi.

yesterday I saw a twenties woman with a diamond stud in her upper lip.
just not my thing but let every woman be beautiful in her own way.
now for guys, I guess ok for movie stars.

82F and sunny @ 13:00, heading up to around 85F for the day's high supposedly. Low this morning was 53.5F.

On agenda for today (in no particular order):

Dole out another week's worth of meds.

Refill bird feeders.

It's Recycle Week so those will need to go up to the cans at the road along with the garbage.

Gather up deer netting and pull out the four t-posts on the southern edge of the garden so I can do the 3,4,5 thing at the southeastern corner and get the vector for the south fence line.

Once that's done it can be sprayed with glyphosate to kill the grass.

Might get some time in on further augering of the post holes to depth on the eastern edge ... if I hurry up and get out there while it's still in shade. Pretty sure I don't want to sit in the hot sun and do it but we'll see.

Water Buffalo should be about due to be refilled.

Probably should pick some of the winter squash so those can start curing while we still have warm weather.

Beyond that just see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Monday ... (y)

RS, nice looking soil even from as deep as where the auger brought it up.

Yeah … the soil here is interesting.

Two different soil types, running sort of diagonally across the property with the house roughly where the transition is. Might be a little further back.

Once you get past the topsoil layer, there is a layer of very fine-grained yellow dirt which I assume has a very high clay or silt content. Doesn’t have much in the way of rocks in it. Have seen that be 12” (or more) thick.

Below that is a grey or blue clay which tends to be real sticky.

Below that you hit shale.

Two more holes picked out a bit with the digging bar and watered with 2 gallons each.

Buffalo now empty, time for a refill.

I was the oldest person re-hired and one of the few without a nose ring or tattoos.

I was with my youngest son, and a young woman and into the shop, her face festooned with piercings, including studs sticking out of her forehead.

I said “who would find that attractive”, he replied “a magnet”.
I have always enjoyed his quick wit.
